I got the call, a near impossible incoming from AD

I got the call from my AD yesterday on the last hulk (maybe one of the last ever made) and was lucky enough to get this from my AD. I believe history will judge this piece very favorably and this is and will continue to be greater than the Kermit in all ways (looks, value, appreciation etc...). Yes this is a subjective matter to some degree, but as the new Kermit hype dies down I think most will look back and say Hulk > Kermit. Please share your thoughts.

I know you are excited and I think lucky to get what most certaintly will be the last piece at that particular AD but being better than the Kermit is entirely personal preference

It’s arguable the new one has a better and more usable movement and some may indeed prefer the contour changes.

That green dial is pretty enticing but wasn’t always. It remained unsold for years.

Congrats

Very nice. Saw one of these in the preowned case at an AD. Their asking was 22k, ... meanwhile people here decry the grey markets for price gouging

The Hulk is a truly spectacular watch, the green sunburst dial looks far better than any Kermit or Cermit.

like you said subjective....

i personally passed on the Hulk three times. I even passed on it as late as July. I just did NOT like all the green and did NOT like fat lugs all that much, which is why I have not owned a Sub in years.

I do like the new Kermit a lot

Nice pickup, congrats.

Overall I agree with you, Hulk will be just fine for decades to come. That sunburst (sunray?) dial is just so underrated and adds a ton to the watch. I think it's one of those things that people like about the Hulk but just can't quite put it into words.

The last Hulk! I passed on this reference 4 years ago, wasn't for me. But what's important is that you like it.

I just don’t get the claim to dislike the fat lugs thing. You could put all three styles of sub is in front of me and ask me look at the horrible difference and I swear I wouldn’t know what you were talking about. The green dial thing I get. I understand that some people don’t like it. I don’t like white dials on sports watches. Everyone’s different. But the lugs? I just don’t get it.

Congrats OP. I great luck and I totally agree with what you said. The hulk is definitely the best green watch ever produced by Rolex. Enjoy.

I don't think it will ever be a collectible watch as there are hundreds of thousands made.

I got the Hulk 2 months before the new release and got the new Kermit almost 2 weeks ago.

I think both of them are equally gorgeous timepiece.

Congrats!!

Just curious, was the Hulk from this AD which sold you a Daytona and diamond jewelry bundle?

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=690462

If so, then I guess all that hassle was worth it.
I think the Hulk looks better than the new half-Hulk.
But I like the new Sub41 better than my Subc.

Well it is a collectible watch right now, today. So I don’t think we can say it will never be collectible. You could make a strong argument that the value will decrease soon. You can also make a strong argument that if Rolex releases an updated green face/ green bezel then the values will go way down. However, the new model would have to be obtainable for that to happen.

My guess is that Rolex will later produce a Hulk 41. Just put a green dial in, and sell more watches.
