These days many women are wearing larger watches, and many of the watches are so called mens watches.

If a woman was to wear a BLNR would she prefer the oyster or the jubilee?

I don’t mind some nicknames, typically don’t use them, but makes for a quick reference once in a while. BUT ...this one is

The votes were not even close and this was back in July.

As stupid as these comic book names are, I have no clue why anyone felt they needed to make the “Batman” name more confusing??? No one is calling the new 126660 DSSD D-Blue anything different than the original “James Cameron” and that got a significant upgrade as well.

My theory was there’s a lot of frustration directed towards Rolex in their new watches and way too much free time? Who knows, who cares?

I am in a thankfully fortunate position to own the new movement 216710 BATMAN GMT II and several other Rolex pieces with Oyster bracelets. We are and should be a thankful group.I prefer the Jubilee on the Batman for my own reasons, which are very subjective.

Firstly-I LOVE the brushed steel Oyster bracelet on my ceramic Submariner.
I really like it with polished center links on my other precious metal bracelet Rolexes.
A Batman with polished center links already tells me that it isn't an outdoorsman watch, like my others. FOR ME, not you. Everyone has their own uses and tastes. My polished center links scream desk queen or social wear to me. Maybe not to you.

However, my personal preference on the GMT watches is the jubilee bracelet. Yes, it is a tool watch, The tool that I wear while flying on a plane in sport coat to meetings (and pilot wearing a suit uniform) where I change to a suit for the meeting. The same watch works appropriately for my entire trip. I'm not diving, swimming or driving my boat. Maybe spreading suntan lotion at the hotel pool. Maybe.

My Submariner won't look the same. Would work? Yes, Would it be better than my Batman (Batgirl LOL) on a jubilee? Not for me. I'm not a checked bag guy nor a separate watch bag guy. I wear what's on my wrist and choose so all occaisions are appropriate venues for the choice. Again, everyone is different and all preferences and travel needs are equally valid.

I get why Rolex chose to move the GMTs to Jubilee bracelets. Its the same reason that Rolex used polished center links for the GMTs on Oyster bracelets and brushed links on Submariners and the true outdoor tool watches. My opinion only

I now have 2 of them. My AD was able to source one to add to the one that I bought from DavidSW.

Thinking about selling one.

I don't own either reference but I think it looks great with both bracelets.

Since when is a man more desirable than a girl?

I‘ve owned both and had no problem with either name.

It‘s getting ridiculous...
Everybody, even AD employees use this nickname for the 126710BLNR. Everybody who‘s in watches knows which watch is meant by the nickname Batgirl.
Get over it people, you can‘t undo it like you can‘t undo that a 126710BLRO is called Pepsi.
Your watch is not cheaper or less desirable with this nickname.
I‘ve owned both Batman and Batgirl and I even liked the two different nicknames to distinguish these two watches. Watches are fun and these nicknames are meant funny.
Don‘t be to serious about it.

it took a while but the batgirl nickname grew on me. Like Vitadine said above, even ADs are using these nicknames from the internet.

Personally I can't see myself going in to an AD and asking for a "126710BLNR". BLNR, black and blue GMT master II, and batman/batgirl would be my go-to's.

Without a doubt all the nicknames are stupid. What I find even worse are the people that go on an Internet forum and cry about the “quality” of the topics. This is the INTERNET people, you get all kinds. Good with the bad. I understand you think of yourselves as more qualified Rolex aficionados, but stay off your high horses and don’t click on the threads that are beneath you.

Whoever coined the term "Batgirl" for the new BLNR was probably suffering from sour grapes in not being able to buy one from a Rolex AD at retail.

Great watch, stupid nickname.

Agree the nickname are not on point... I’m a huge Batman fan btw. One guy told me I like the new Rolex, my response was which one?

He answered “the cosmopolitan” I was like wth is that he pulled up a pic and it was BLNR on the jubilee... again the nicknames are dumb.

Batgirl, since it is an appropriate name for the watch.

Why is it okay to call a watch BatMAN and are almost all owners of the watch on fire when it's called BatGIRL?

Everybody knows the BLNR on Jubilee is called Batgirl, so get over it.

Unfortunately this is where we are Padi.

If I get a text message with r u ok, I won't even bother replying.

Abbreviating everything, shortening words, making up stupid names for stuff.
It drives me crazy.

A friend asked me what Uni did I attend? I asked him what a Uni was

If you don’t own one then you don’t get to name it. And here lies the discrepancy of the nickname issue with this one particular watch. The watch was named by a bunch of haters that don’t own the watch. Then hide behind a gender neutrality PC bunker challenging anyone to say there is anything wrong with it. A lot of new genuine Rolex enthusiast don’t know this is not how it works and just go along with it from lack of experience on TRF.
A larger group of long time WIS, and enthusiast won’t play into the nickname game and push back against these snowflakes that live to play these social media toxic games on other open message boards.

It’s just another indication of the influx of snowflakes and their snarky way of trolling anything they don’t like. It’s really bullying in a cowardly way if you just don’t “play along”.
It’s taking the forum in a completely different direction in about 3 short years. They move into collecting Rolex watches from Kangal hats, sneakers, or whatever else they were into before discovering Rolex watches.

Don't wind yourself up so much about it.
Not everything is about haters. There are more Rolex watches with nicknames that are accepted.

Batgirl looks better than Batman anyway…

I just think the grown ups on the forum tend to take the high road and not push back enough in the beginning when stupid issues like this start. It’s why most of real professional knowledge based members left because they don’t want to play social media games and just wanted to discuss watches. It’s a shame.
