Any recent AD price flexibility in PM models?

I know this has been asked before, but looking for recent experiences. I’m considering ordering a white gold sub (116619LB) or white gold Daytona (116509) from my AD. Generally, the secondary market for some PM models can be a little softer than their SS counterparts. Nevertheless, I’d prefer to give my AD the business if I can. Has anyone had reasonable luck getting money off any of these? If not, I know there are other benefits to continued relationship building. Just curious others experiences in similar situations?

Thanks!

A “relationship” isn’t worth giving a reseller $5,000-$8,000 more than the market price. My 2 cents.

Tell that to the people who buy PM watches for rrp and get their pick of any/all SS professional models they want

I've heard the 116619LB is really hard to find now from a couple different AD's. Both said they hadn't seen one in over a year. Wondering if others are hearing/seeing the same thing?

Call your AD and ask for both watches with a discount. I doubt your AD could even get these two references for you anytime soon. If the Sub is discontinued then not likely to get the 166519LB and which dial do you want on the Daytona? also blue dial? Two watches you probably have to wait to get and I doubt they are discounting anything since inventory of any watches seems to be low.

Just bought a 116509 from a Rolex boutique last week, full retail no discount, but I did get a nice leather Rolex watch roll as a gift.

I spoke with the AD the other day and apparently they get approximately 1-2 white gold Daytona each year... one in OF and one in full WG bracelet. May be 2 a year if they are lucky... not sure about other PM but PM Daytona is definitely not going lower than MSRP.

lol that’s one way to look at it.

Another way to look at it is that not everyone is interested in getting a hot SS model from an AD. Hell they are not even interested in becoming best friends with an AD. They are just walking in to buy an over priced, mass produced luxury watch in PM and would like some discount off the inflated suggested price...

My experience is that discount is not so much the PM but which model. I received a discount on RG Cellini late last year and a discount on WG DJ. AD didn’t blink an eye when they said “no discount” on my TT Bluesy last month. My opinion is AD is not offering discounts on PM sport watches because of demand where other models in less demand may motivate the AD to discount to keep moving inventory.

That goes without saying. There’s no question if you only want one watch you find the best price and that’s the end of it.

I’ve bought a PM Rootbeer and YG Sub both this month from different AD’s and no discount! Ironically one just texted me and offered a Platinum Daytona but with the two purchase and just recently moving this month I don’t love it enough for the price! My main AD doesn’t do deposits but said I would get first choice at the next WG GMT and I’ve also asked for a PM Daytona either green or blue! Told my SA I would rather fork over a little more for a Gem piece if they get one this year!

There used to be a standard 20%, then 10, 5, and now pretty much nil. Especially on PM Daytonas and al other sports. If you find a discount take it, my guess is we're pretty much at the point where if you want a Rolex, any Rolex except for Cellini or some DJ's it's at list.

You can't walk into an AD in the UK and get a WG Daytona, let alone a SS version, in the UK so a discount isn't even worth thinking about here!

I got about 10% off my PM bluesy last week. But I did buy a DD in gold at full price also.

No discounts these days.

The good ol days of 20%+ off is long long gone.

Consistent with what my AD said about the 116519. Therefore, no discount.

A local and high traffic mall AD boutique near me has had one on display for a least two weeks now so my guess is you should be able to get some sort of a discount

My AD only offers a 1.3% discount on all models if paying with cash. Other than that, no discount.

Minor single digits may be possible

But not much more on popular pieces

On sitting pieces, wiggle room
