Shocked and Stunned

Shocked and Stunned.

I am struggling to believe that after just 20 days of letting my AD know that I wanted a Submariner I am the very proud owner of Rolex's latest evolution of the original Submariner.

This is very much a new watch for me, I have no preconceived ideas of what to expect, no previous versions to compare it against so simply a voyage into the unknown.

My initial impressions are of a great looking watch, it has wonderful clean lines, an uncluttered look and total symmetry on the dial. There's enough sparkle from the edges of the bezel and the indices catch the light beautifully.

I've read about the clasp being big and obtrusive but I have no issues it all seems fine to me.

There hasn't been chance as yet to do some decent shots of the watch so this simple wrist shot will have to suffice for now.

The watch looks great on my wrist, not too big, well thats the wife's verdict and I have to agree.

My only issue is that I had too many links removed so will get the AD to add one back in when I am next in town, as I have very little flexibility in one direction on the glide-lock.

A very very nice watch Mr Rolex thank you, a watch that was asked for and delivered in double quick time thanks to my AD, a big well done to them.

I will update the thread with some better images as soon as I can grab a few minutes to set up the camera with some decent light.

Nice one man! Looks like the perfect size on your wrist, especially once you get that extra link added back in

It was very cold in the AD they had the air-con on full tilt and I think my wrist contracted, as a result we took out one link to many, when I left the AD I had movement back and forth on the Glide-Lock but after being in the warm for a few hours my wrist has returned to normal and the Glide-Lock is open as far as it can go. A return visit to the AD to refit that link is required.

Thanks for the comment, much appreciated.

Congrats on the purchase and hopefully several years of memories with your new watch! Hopefully you haven't caught the bug and will be a Rolex hunter now :)

Thank you for the kind words, unfortunately I have the bug, this is my second Rolex, the Submariner will go very nicely with my DJ41.

Chatting as you do whilst the stickers are removed, my SA stated this was only the second Submariner they have seen, they have seen a Date LN but as yet no LV so I feel very honoured to have picked this beauty up so quickly since the launch.

I've read about the clasp being big and obtrusive but I have no issues it all seems fine to me.

The watch looks great on my wrist, not too big, well thats the wife's verdict and I have to agree.

Nice that you can just enjoy the watch without worrying about all that stuff really!

I would love to add one I absolutely am not going to even waste my time at an AD in England lol. Will wait for prices to settle.

Congrats!
