I think it’s got to be the white gold version. The dial is stunning.

Perhaps after buying one from an AD it might make the wait list for a steel one shorter?

For what it's worth. I sold my 116519 white gold Daytona when I bought the new stainless white face Daytona. Nothing but regrets.

At that almost identical price point I'd say you're doing yourself a disservice by not going with the white gold, unless your heart is absolutely set on the SS and you're willing to spend what is IMO an absurd amount of dough for a SS Daytona.

The 116519 may not be for everyone because of the strap, but in person it's an absolutely stunning watch. Seriously gorgeous.

Should not even be any question , the 116519. I would take the 500 at MSRP.

Can’t justify 29k for a gold piece on a rubber strap nor an all steel one at 27k. Two different types of robberies.

I think the white dial SS Daytona at MSRP is the best value watch out there. But paying WG money for it? That WG OF watch is really sharp and for the same money, you will be hard pressed to find someone who will vote for the SS model.

SS is sought after because it's cheaper than gold or platinum, not because it's better than gold or platinum!

SS is more comfortable but WG on oysterflex is prettier and feels more luxurious.

Honestly, it makes no sense that the SS Daytona should be valued anywhere close to the WG variant.

You’ll rarely want to wear steel ever again once you go PM.

Looking at relative terms, MSRP for a WG Daytona on a white gold bracelet is around $41k, which makes the delta between white gold and oysterflex around $12k.

At least that’s how I’m justifying the order I just put in for a WG Oysterflex...

I think that makes alot of sense, the price of a watch is not becuase of the value of the materials. Its about how it makes you feel.

Not to mention the clasp on the OF. So you’re really paying all the extra money for 12 links. Makes the OF seem like a much better deal in my opinion if one is trying to quantify the cost of the material. People often say they don’t want to pay that much for a watch on rubber but it’s actually the other way around if you ask me. But I’m biased.

And to reply to original post, absolute no brainer unless you really want the steel. The WG OF is way nicer. Again, I’m biased.

YG Daytona ,black diamond dial on OF .. saw it in the metal .
Amazing reference .
WG black diamomd dial on OF alternative .

Black diamond dial just looks well on a Daytona with OF .

Totally agree with this.
Both watches are great pieces, and wear differently but if you can only get one I would go WG at this price point
