Rolex GMT master II 126711 CHNR obtainability

Dear Rolexforums,

I am writing you to ask your help and get some additional info/advice about Root beer.

I am an old reader of the forum but somehow this is going to be my first post/thread.

I am living in Switzerland and here we do not have to much AD other than Bucherer and few smaller shops.

This year, I thought, It would be a wonderful opportunity to buy a CHNR because based on the threads and comments it did not seem like a rare model at least in sense of waiting list length. ( i have seen quite a lot incomings)

I made my queries at my usual ADs (Bucherer, Beyer, etc.) but all of them turned me down and having said that - they have several years of waiting list for this model.

Do you know any AD in Europe where it would be possible to obtain one CHNR in an acceptable time range (cca. 1 year maybe?)

Many thanks for the help and advices in advance!

Given you live in the land of Rolex...i would think there is some preference for local buyers? Don't they rather be paid in Swiss Francs instead of Euro/Dollar/Yuan? Anyhow, it took me 2 weeks to get it. No prior history except for some warranty service...but i got lucky.

Did Bucherer put you on their list?

Against what people might think, we don’t have that much supply in Switzerland.

Here in CH, they are giving me 2-3 years of waiting list (Bucherer)
Beyer did not even consider me to put on the wishlist.

Somehow seems like in the land of watches we do not have too much watch after all.

I would not mind if i have to pay for the watch in EUR.

I am wandering how is that possible to get in in few weeks :)

Bucherer has a new policy with their whishlist - If you are on one then they offer the option to either put you on the other list and delete the existing one or decline your request.

Hence, I have an order from 2016 about a white face daytona - i would not trade in that order/request for this one.

I have contacted all the authorised dealers in my Canton - All of them replied with the same “template” - Several years of waiting list.

Any idea?

If you are that much in a need for a CHNR, why don't you consider getting one on the grey market? They only have about 10-15% premium ..

With whom do you meet at Bucherer? An SA? The store manager?

List price is 14.1K CHF and grey is around 20K. I check time to time on chrono the listing in Switzerland.

That is unfortunately much more than 15%.

With Bucherer it is very hard to tell who is the person you are talking with.
Last year I bought from them a Pepsi, everything was fine.

For the daytona order i have they can not give me any answer and i have the order for almost 4 years.

The situation with the CHNR is very annoying.
