Just Ordered Heuer Monaco Gulf

So I have almost always bought with my head and only a little heart. Which I have learned is stupid. So I ordered this with my heart. I am a F1 fan, I have met with Gulf oil on multiple occasions (not gulf racing :( ) and I put on the standard Monaco yesterday and it just made me smile.

So this will be on its way:

CAW211R.FC6401

Funny it launched yesterday for preorder but I have seen zero publicity or it listed on any site other than Tag's website.

My AD told me about it a few days ago as he saw it at Basel in a closed room with no pics.

Very nice indeed. I think it would be better without the actual Gulf logo but that is just me. Love the color scheme and I agree that the monaco is a great look. Wonder why they would re-release a special edition watch though.

Gulf is apart of the special edition. Gulf Racing. The AD told me the rerelease is because the original Gulf SE was not available in the US because of some trademark issue. I like this one better anyway.

Great looking watch Taco, have always been a fan of the Gulf livery. Be careful, next thing you know you end up in auction house bidding 11 million on one of these.

Enjoy the watch!

I was just reading the "dumbest move while watch collecting" thread and ALOT of Tag regrets.

But most was their first/second watch purchase. I owned Rolex, Omega, Panerai, Brietling, Seiko, Tudor, Nomos, Tissot, Victorinox, Casio, and I am sure something I am forgetting. So I should be ok right?

Yes, why not. nothing wrong with TAG imo and the model you ordered is really very nice.

ugh...I hate reading those sorts of threads... IMHO if you're buying watches as "investments" (and I'm using the term loosely), then yeah, go buy a Rolex/Patek/etc., but if you like ____ brand watches and it appeals to you for ____ reasons, then who cares! Buy it, wear it, enjoy it!

This Gulf Monaco looks great btw!

A Monaco, whether new or vintage, is never a mistake. It has a distinctive look and feels great on the wrist. I have both vintage and modern, owned both for over 10 years, have no intention of parting with them.

Ok so I didn't get the gulf. It was a great looking watch and smooth as silk. I also have a relationship with Gulf and Steve McQueen but in the end the Milguass won.
