I wear a watch doing the dishes, there is a chance it will pick up sink diving marks, but water resistance is not an issue

Except my dress watches... I wear any of my watches in the field, swimming, hiking, sleeping, yard work, even when I was still in the military I had it on... if it can handle that it can handle a sink full of dishes. Oddly enough only time I don't wear a watch is in the shower (unless specifically my job / training requires my hands and wrist to be sterile i.e. safety reasons working on equipment in a factory, etc.

I wear my sub or GMT for everything. Even gardening or DIY. I like the idea of a tough tool watch. I would probably think twice if I was wearing a PM or leather dress watch.

If your actually really going to get your Sub wet ,then might be a good idea to put a rubber strap on first

Good question OP but next time improve your forum profile and ask if it's safe to wear a watch while sitting on the toilet.
Mama mia- what a daft question!

Hey it's a casual fun question/survey. Since when does this forum have to be ultra serious topics all the time? Obviously from the responses some people do and some don't. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro |

I cook. My kids do the dishes.
It wouldn't even cross my mind to take the watch off. |

Same here. I see no reason to take it off.

For those who wear their Rolex washing dishes, do you have any routine for the watch when done? Removing the watch, rinsing it, drying it, drying your hands, etc.? Pretty confident Grady either pays his check or makes a run for the door.

Uh, it’s a Rolex. My GMT has seen a lot of action in the past 30 odd years. It can handle the dishes, as well as the pool, ocean bath and shower.

Full disclosure, I do take off my watch when washing dishes.
I'm a tad clumsy and I've smacked cases and crystals against one too many pots, and the edge of the quartz / stainless counter and sink. Let the flaming begin |
