The dial finishing isn't as nice? Maybe not as over the top but it's definitely just as nice, no? I mean KV did finish each dial, correct?

KV is the top, his dial company makes great dials for many brands, but really doubt they are the same level of perfection as the ones he uses for him, might be wrong but don’t think so, on mine the dial is just amazing, never seen a more beautiful blue dial, it’s just wow, and Karl’s is also a stunner, would love to see it in real |

Yea I'm sure they are even way better in person too but the same level of care and detail looks the same to me on the Chapter 3 dial as on many commissioned pieces. There isn't as much of the hand turned work but I would bet it's of the same quality as his commissioned pieces since some of the Chapter 3's are 1 of 1s which look exactly like the others. I seriously doubt he would skimp on a dial just because it's a collaboration. The dial was his baby in this collaboration and it's clearly KVesque to say the least. But I'm just an observer of photos unlike you two. Pictures don't show that kind of work like in the flesh. I don't see anything other than KV and wish had a picture with the shutters closed and wish one of you could compare the dial finish side by side just out of curiosity since I'll never be able to commission a KV, but back to the regular scheduled Gronefeld beauty! About the dial yes the quality is probably great, but what puts the KV way above it is clearly the hand turned guilloche on both Karl’s and mine, but other than that yes the general quality is probably not far or equivalent, but that makes a huge difference, and as you say Kari is not the kind of person to make crap even in a collaboration, and the Chapter 3 is clearly a great watch... |

Congrats on the very nice acquisition. There are a few watches that makes me exicited lately but owning such a piece is far better experience than buying an off the shelf product.

Quick question for KarlS, Lapince, watchucallit:
Was Romain Gauthier ever on your radar as an option? Say, the Logical One or one of his other watches? Any thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks! |

I like the images of the Logical One-- I had read about this piece a few weeks ago. I would be interested in seeing in person but while i think it is nice-- for the money-- would not be in my top "want" group..

I plan to take some images with some of my high end macro camera gear when I get some time and will post.. You know how work interferes with life sometimes :)
