Trade SubC for Pelagos?

The pelagos is not that light for a Ti Watch , iv use mine on a rubber nato , I’d do the same with the sub for diving and let’s be honest your weighted more often than not when diving

Being that you have the LVC you should go for the Pelagos! Sounds like exactly what you're looking for and the light weight of titanium should suit you perfectly for dives.

I am a huge Submariner and Pelagos fan. I have both in my collection and both are unique in their own way. If you have the LV, I would do the trade for the Pelagos for the LN. You should have enough money left over for a Omega Speed Master Profession on the bracelet or a Black Bay. There is no short fall in the Pelagos for style, size or wear. I like the blue dial with the In-house movement. Go Trusted Seller on the trades.

Pelagos is wonderful - a more low key variant of sub, with classic Tudor snowflakedesign from the 60s, and matte bezel. Not flashy, total toolwatch.

In other words - perfect to companion a more blingy Rolex.

Mine is perfect together with my Expy2.

just buy the pelages, why consider a trade. If anything, just sell but you might regret it. Do the trade and wear for a while and see which one you decide to keep

I know this thread is not your everyday "this or that" thread - trading from a more expensive watch to a less expensive one. But the situation here is different - I have a Hulk already, and the specs of the Pelagos actually seem more attractive than the Sub in many substantive respects (e.g. Ti bracelet/case, strap option, luminous bezel, AR crystal), and I would get a few thousand bucks back in my pocket. It sounds to me to be a great tool watch - one that my black Sub served well, but I can't bring myself to use my Hulk as a tool watch.

The only thing that gives me hesitation with the Pelagos is the five lines of text on the dial. And yet, I would prefer the in-house movement over the ETA.

Of the 3, I'm leaning towards the LHD as it's quite unique, and like the idea of not having the crown dig into my wrist when I wear it on my left hand.

In the event I go through with this idea, I'll sell the LN outright and just buy the Pelagos from my AD (I was offered 20% off.)

The Black Bay seems more appealing to me...
I’d get a BLNR GMT 11 and call it a day instead though ..
But if your adamant about downgrading the Black Bay Black
would be my choice....

Material Straps , Nato’s , their all choice on the BBN!!!

Pelagos is a fabulous watch. Sell the sub. Find a gently preowned 2 line ETA, put the rest towards your next purchase.

There’s probably a good chance to land a new 2-line Pelagos if the in-house dial bothers you. I found one at an AD recently.

As the OP, I'd like to follow up:

I sold my black SubC today and made a new watch collector friend.

I then walked over to the AD to check out all 3 Pelagos models, as well as a Christmas gift for Mom. I ended up picking these out:



LHD was a true winner for me of the three. Love the red lettering on the dial (makes the 5 lines of text a lot less jarring), the cream lume and roulette date wheel. A watch that's a little more fun and less plain than the "regular" Pelagos models. I know some people like heft, but I'm a huge fan of the lightness of titanium. Also happy to have a watch with a crown that won't dig into the wrist. IMO, great bang for the buck - I still had $5,000 CAD (or around US$4,000) in my pocket after selling my SubC and getting the Pelagos.





They'll make a happy couple together:



Now the hard part will be waiting - I won't have the Pelagos on my wrist until after the new year as I had my entire purchase shipped out to save the taxes.

How so?

LHD doesn't mean it has to be worn on the right wrist... in fact one of the draws to me of the LHD (as per above) is that the crown won't dig into my hand.
