Tribute to fifty fathoms mil-spec

Hello Guys,
Went to local Blancpain dealer to check this new smaller 50FF out, but the guy said the hole 500 units production has been sold out. Based on pictures seen in different medias, its a good looking watch that might fit to my smaller wrist better than its big brother. So have you bought any, seen any, already having one? So comments, please. At least I haven't seen any pre owned for sale.

Pathetic roll out. I love the watch but get the product to the customers.

I was at the new 5th ave boutique and they said that about 85 were being allocated to the US and that they will get one about every two weeks. I think pre-orders via non-refundable deposit are still available. after that they go to a waitlist. Try giving them a call.

Tribute to fifty fathoms mil-spec

There was one in the window of the boutique on 5th Avenue a few weeks ago. A couple of days later it was gone.

I love these classic Blancpain designs, but I don’t think I could justify the price new. $6,500 or so and I’d probably be in.

[edit] not a fan of the date but I could get over it.

Thanks Guys,
I feel that from the brand story point of view Blancpain fifty fathoms is one of the most interesting watch. Its sad that the brand is so poorly taken care off. Now that they have made a new interesting piece, logistics doesn't seem to work. Most likely I just wait for a pre owned to be available.

They had two prototypes at the new nyc boutique yesterday. I suspect that is what you saw in the window as they said they’ve delivered <10 so far and have many deposits.

I tried on two of them. Prototype no 1 on a bracelet and no 8 on a nato. I’d personally opt for the sailcloth.

The dimensions are a bit reserved imo. While definitely thicker than any watches I own, it did feel quite a bit more compact than my 114060 for example.

It’s a gorgeous watch and certainly worth a premium over a sub. However, the $14k (NATO or sailcloth) price is pretty hard to stomach.

Bracelet or Nato, it looks fantastic either way ! Thankyou for posting such clear pics, especially the one of the movement. The rotor treatment looks gorgeous.
First time I've seen a deployant Nato...

Curious, those who have/had both - how does this compare wearing to a Sub.?

I tried one on in an AD today - they had just received one of their pre-sold ones and hadn't yet shipped it out while I was in there today. As you may expect, it wears decently smaller diameter wise than the Sub but it also feels noticeably bigger "height" wise. The proportions feel just a bit off to me, even though I LOVE the watch design wise.

I believe it’s 13.3mm in height, which would be a hair over a ceramic sub. I think part of it is an illusion, because it’s slightly more compact with the shorter, skinnier lugs.

I tried one on late summer at the nyc boutique. From what I remember, the quality was top notch. Felt a bit heavier than the sub (in a good way). Bezel had great tactile clicky feel. Don’t think I liked the braclet all that much though.

I secured a spot and placed a refundable deposit. If I don’t change my mind, I’ll find out for sure come late Feb.

It's about the same on braclet. Don't have a side by side with a sub. But here's one with a milgauss

Prefer mine on NATO

Looks amazing. How do you like it? Do you find it's easy to wear in dressy situations?
Sorry for the questions, but it's so hard to find detailed reviews on this watch.
