Always fun to see who doesn't have a sense of humor!

This is a one-off fun piece for charity. I'm sure they had so much fun designing it.

I'd rather have the cheese watch. More functional.

Exactly. All their watches are a total snoozefest.

Love it. You listen to some of these Swiss watch execs (insert name/brand here) and they take themselves so seriously. passion for your product is something to be encouraged and celebrated but bullshit "innovation' and straight out lying should be discouraged and ridiculed. <RANT OVER>

I think their marketing whilst seeking to be controversial is tacky at best and completely lacks class but each to their own

Creative watch. I'd love to have it. The comments above missed the Deepsea. The hint is there with the light to dark blue. Overall it is a pleasing blend of styles and contrasts. Refreshing to see someone with conviction go against the grain and do something daring.

It is just the opposite of Tudor and Omega. They build watches that they think others will like. So they incorporate styles from the past so that their watches look like popular vintage pieces. I don't care for that. For me it sort of kills the beautify vintage styles of the past by copying them and making the look into something that is common.

That video is hilarious! I totally get their point and I wish more people would watch and read before commenting, since some clearly don't get it.

That being said, I'm not sure Mosier has the credibility or stature to be dishing out such criticism.

On one hand I see the humor. On the other I see desperation. As you said Mosier lacks the stature to take this stance.

Sorry, this watch is dumb as hell lol.

It would be funny if Moser themselves were not guilty of the very thing the CEO is accusing the other brands of.

The CEO wants to talk about smoke and mirrors? Let's start with their lame "Very Rare" slogan. Their Apple watch knockoff was funny, but now they're just trying to gain relevance by being ridiculous.

:)

Are you saying with a production of around 1K pieces annually that the slogan is misleading?

Remind us of who Moser's sponsored ambassadors are?
While you're at it, which name are the resurrecting in an attempt to legitimise an extended history?
Which parts of their watches are manufactured outside of Switzerland?
Which "artist" has been drafted in to design a new LE model?

Once you've done that, regal us with your understanding of the term 'parody', which is what the watch has been designed to do?

on sales and pop culture awareness then maybe they don't, but based on merit they most certainly do.

99% of Rolex wearers would never have a clue who Moser is but they like "fine watchmaking", its ironic as is the watch they released.

Interesting I think they make some incredible watches and am quite interested in this brand. Clearly this watch was a joke and a parody as stated by Hodinkee. It is funny though to see people get so worked up about it on forums and Instagram etc.

Based on Moser's statement they are trying to satirize the big brands, but I don't see how this watch design accomplishes that.

Moser claims the big brands "create and produce nothing", but then makes a watch that highlights the unique design characteristics of these brands.

This stunt seems like the same "artificial hype to stay relevant" that Moser is accusing the big brands of doing.

I just read on IG that they have withdrawn the watch and will no longer put it up for auction. Apparently, quite a number of people got offended.

Moser claims that they don't innovate and produce nothing new now - or that they depend of marketing and pay all the things seen in video instead focusing on watchmaking.

At some point Genta's creations and all "unique characteristics" were new, and instead of creating something completely new that will become legendary in next 30/40/50 years brands focus on recycling past year uniqueness.

my money is on Rolex being the cause. The others, it would surprise me if they made a big fuss about it.
