Aquanaut Feelings

Guys,
I just got my ne Aquanaut Jumbo.
Nice watch, but a bit a delusion. I was excited, but after opening the box, it is really nothing special.
Anyone else had the same feeling?

D.

U ve expected a big bold sports watch and got a simple, slim almost feminine 3handed piece on rubber .well that s it.the good news u can flip it anytime.
Try to enjoy it and if atill doubt just sell it.

definitely feel you.
Tried to like it for over 6 month but at the end I had let it go.
Hoping to try 5164 or a Nautilus next.

I have a 5711.
Same feeling! I like Royal Oaks!

I was almost as underwhelmed with the aquanaut as the blue 5711. Neither lasted 6 months

How dare you insult the blue/GREY dial

You mean grey dial that has hint of blue in just the right sunlight and 30 degree angle of reflection!!!

All I need to do is say that the 5522 also sucks and guaranteed banning!!!

The 5167 is pure stealth wealth. Once you wear it for a while it grows on you. However I see you have a 5711 so it is a bit duplicative.

I agree totally, I just don't get the appeal of those watches. I went with a 5712.

I love the 5167. My favorite watch with 5711 White dial a very close second.

I had the same experience. Thought the 5164 would be better but it didn’t sing to me either. Flipped both within 3 months of ownership but I’m pretty happy with the 5711 and 5712 on bracelet.

Had the opposite feeling when I got mine- exceeded my expectations and the more I wore the more i loved. I loved the thinness, the lightness, the dynamic dial, the bold hands, the reflections of light off the bezel, hands and numerals.

I had the opposite reaction upon receiving my 5167, and my appreciation for what the watch is, or perhaps I should state isn’t, continues to grow.

I’ve always said (and tried to myself) throughout years of collecting - and chasing various references - never ‘over-hype’ any particular watch — your just setting yourself up for disappointment.

At the end of the day - it’s just a watch.

(I’m a big Aquanaut fan btw)

I hear you, I've had two and found myself not wearing it much. Too sporty for work and not rugged enough for the weekend.

So I sold the first and missed it so much that I got a second one, sold it again for the same reason and now I want a third...

Keep it, give it time.

I do find the base models a bit too simple for me, esp given their prices, so I prefer the 64 and 12 in SS.

And it's the simplicity of the base models that attracts me to both! Happy they offer options!

I wasn’t underwhelmed...if anything, the dial is so much more lively in person than in pics

I owned a 64 way before the hype. Never could get the fit correct .I loved the ease of the time zone setting though. Never considered the 67 as a Nautilus really kicks its butt.
Ultimately, I am no longer an aquanaut owner.

Hard to argue with that/ Understated practicality combined with elegance.
