5170P is gorgous looking watch...I just have no love for:

a) manual wind and
b) chronos

so has to be 5320 (or 5327G blue dial)

Stephen - I vaguely remember you had a blue dial 5270G which you traded for the J...am I correct? That dial I still havent seen in the wild!!

Speaking of which, there is a feature of the new 5320 in the latest PP mag.

If PC, I’ll go for the classic 5140p, not the 5320.

I prefer an automatic for a Chronograph complication.

Someone commented a PC being a stopgap of a PCC. I think it’s not totally true for someone who prefers an automatic for a Patek PC. I just find a manual PC which is normally found in PCC to be counter intuitive. So I would rather keep an automatic PC rather go for the manual PCC I. The future.

5230g vs 5170p

That one for me, without a shadow of a doubt. A perpetual calendar that for a change is legible with luminous hands. Love the vintage look without being too vintage , that cream dial is gorgeous. Oh boy... if I had the means that would be the perfect companion for my 5524G.

If you would of asked me a couple of months a would it go with 5170P.

The 5170p is sex on a leather strap. There, I said it.

5320g all day but thats because i dont like BLUE, i prefer flat.

I love the flat creme enamel (it takes on colors of its surrounding in the relective sense).
The numerals are perfect.
Size is perfect. The hour and minute hands ...im not 100% on the needle tips.

I just dont want to pay msrp for either watch but at some point in the future if i am able to pick up the 5320 with a fair discount. Its coming home with me. Until then. Ill just admire this picture....

One of the best looking Patek Perpetuals. Wish it was a tad smaller like 38mm and cheaper

It will be discounted in the future.

I prefer the 5320G over the 5170P by a small margin but in an ideal world I would want modifications to both:

The 5320G comes with my favorite Patek PC layout, but I would prefer a more basic Calatrava design over the retro (pilot watch) looks of the 5320G. The 5170P looks absolutely stunning on pics but I just cannot see myself wearing a watch with diamond indices. I also tend to prefer the PC over the chrono complication in dressy Pateks like these two.

5320G is a quite nice watch, but when you put the. 5170P and the 5320G side by side on your wrist, you will see on your own how the 5320G loose.

5170P has everything what you need!!for me one of the 3best PP watches
Manuel winding chronograph
Beautiful understatement diamond markers
Beautiful black to dark blue sunburst dial
Heavy in platinum
And it’s also a vintage watch!!

It'd be interesting to see how many people that swears by not wearing diamonds on their watch have actually seen the 5170p in real life. I was one of those guys and instantly changed my mind when I saw it in real life (believe me, for the money that was my main argument for not getting it even after amazing pics from fellow enablers). It's really well done and subtle. Very similar to the zaratsu polished hour markers on a Grand Seiko.

Yes I also think that not so much people have seen the watch in real life.
We will see what happened when the watch is officially discontinued,
than everyone would like to have one ;-)

5170 is the more sexy of the two. 5320 is the perfect one and only all rounder watch.

I too hated the diamonds until I tried it on. It’s a fantastic watch

Yup, I dismissed thie 5170p when it first came out due to the markers. In person, the markers are perfect. Subtle but right amount of shine to help with legibility.

I've tried it on a few times. I love the color of the dial and the complication but I just can't get past the diamonds.
