Really Nice Patek Experience

I'm in Naples, FL and went into the local Patek dealer. I must say it was one of the nicest watch AD experiences ever. This particular dealer is owned by Govberg, FWIW. The salesman probably spent over an hour with me. A few times I said, "I don't want to take up any more of your time" but he insisted. Very nice. I looked at their F.P. Journe collection, which I really liked from the back, but not as much from the front. I asked about the 5170P. He brought one out (side note: I've been into three PP ADs in my life and all three had 5170P in stock), still in plastic, so I couldn't really see it so well. He also showed me a 5496R perpetual, which I didn't ask about. And I spoken-for 5726. At the end, he gave me a hard bound PP Collection Book. All in all, a great experience.

Ive only had one bad patek experience and that was after we had a change in sales... and i pulled my relationship and moved it to another store in their organization on another coast.

Patek sales generally top notch usually you meet sales, Patek manager, store manager and associate store manager :) Each watch cost as much as a bmw and a consistent relationship amounts to a house or more.

I love dealing with Patek sales, i never feel rushed or pushed.

i do not see why it would go up after discontinuation. there is at least two year's stock out there. every AD that i have recently visited (about 10-12 all around the world) had one. my AD has been sitting on their piece since october last year. so why should it go up??? if it does then it will take a long time.
look, it is just another dress watch (albeit a very nice one) and we know what the demand of those is.

it may go up way after an AD sells the last one, no idea. But, Greys price in discontinuations well before they happen as they seem to know before most. If the price isnt up yet, its not going up in the short term.

Yamron is always a pleasant experience. I remember when they had 5980/1As collecting dust in the windows lol

They didn’t have FP Journe there last year. I’m glad they do it will be something to check out next time I’m down. With a kid on the way that might be some time lol

I always enjoy stopping in Yamron when in Naples - really nice staff and displays for patek and FPJ. They own the Panerai boutique around the corner. Had no idea they were owned by Govberg!

Reasons to discontinue the 5170P, 1. It is not selling, 2. Discontinued = price may go up. Win win for Patek
