You see, that’s why I didn’t buy the 5065 at the time. It’s a lovely watch, but the lugs overhung my wrist and it just seemed too big. I have a RO as well from the same period (bought new in the late 90s) and I chose the 36mm instead of the jumbo for the same reason. [Back then you could buy any watch you wanted without hassle, so the choices were made purely on aesthetics and comfort. All watches were assumed to be depreciating assets so other concerns didn’t come into it.]

I don’t own a 5066, but I do have a 5065, and I absolutely love it.
Also own a 5167 but I certainly prefer the 5065 by a margin.

I have very small wrists btw. 6.25”

Based on the wrist size, the 5065 is perfect!

Got one for the wife years ago when i had the 5167. This way we had matching timepieces. Sold both, durability problems on mine and she really wasn't into the style, so now she wears a 36mm SS DJ with pink MOP dial / diamonds.

But the aquanaut line generally to me is so versatile. And the rubber straps are very comfortable.

Just mentioning as when I was looking for something to fit my smaller wrist I didn’t even know the 5165 existed. Price factor isn’t great on the 5165 though as it is a bit over the gray prices on the 5167.
I would imagine that the 5165 is among the hardest to get, and most expensive, given its relatively short production run (and perfect size).

Is the 3mm really that important?
5165 and 5066/5060 aren't really a fair comparison, since the 5165 is the newer style (beefier case, integrated strap, newer movement); I'd consider the 5065 more appropriate, no? Probably also better price factor, as more seem to be floating around.

I also love how exact PP was in measuring. The 5066 is 35.6. Not 35. Not 36. 35.6.

Reminds me of how pre-BMW Rolls Royces were all fitted with 6.75L engines...

What durability issue(s) did you experience with your 5167.

Sorry to bump this topic but I stumbled upon the 5060 and found this topic.

I don't see the difference in hands or what should I pay attention to compared to older and newer versions or service hands (does that even exist at PP)?
