Would you sell a steel Nautilus Chrono 5980/1A for........

My AD gives me the opportunity to get next year a brand new Nautilus Perpetual Calendar ref. 5740.
As I won’t have available all the cash to pay this watch, would you sell your beloved 5980/1A purchased in 2008 (with Geneva Seal) to fund the perpetual Nautilus ??

Not a chance I would trade. The 5980 is my favorite Patek - and Nautilus.

If you can sell 5980/1A close to market price and get 5740 at retail, you should do it.

Absolutely! Take advantage of the market now to upgrade. I prefer the slim profile of the 11s, 12s , and 40

I have both in my collection, and I love both. If forced to select one, I would go 5740.

I think I would do it also. The feel of the white gold is always very neat. I also love PCs.

Ive had both in my hand and I'd prefer the 5740. It's slimmer, more elegant and the light blue is just jaw-dropping.

If you love it, do it.

From someone who came to the Nautilus party late (this year), I would have loved to have gotten a 5980 1A. It's hands down my favorite SS nautilus -- so make sure the 5740 is what you want.

I like both watches, but the 5740 is hard to come by. Are you able to add instead? The 5980 is a discontinued blue nautilus and so rare now.

I fell you gonna regret passing the 5740. It's very very difficult to get one at msrp. Do you like 5740? If so, do it!

It’s not rare at all. Lots out there. It’s only overpriced now. I bought a blue and a black 5980 in 2014 for 41K each. He should sell now, take a big profit and get the 5740. He said he doesn’t have the funds to just buy the 5740 so how does he add.

1000%. The 5980 is too top heavy IMHO. Also you can’t compare a PC caliber that u use every day and a Chrono24/Date. If you are getting it at retail that means you can basically get the 5740 for next to nothing as its close to an even swap. A WG PC with the new bracelet. That’s a home run...grand slam.
