~ Having Fun ~
Hey TRFer's!!
I have been very very fotunate enough to wear a few nice pieces for the past few days in order to help my decision... First of all I was wearing this one this morning, its a bark Rolex DayDate from around 1980- "something".. In mint and I mean MINT condiction! Next of was a WG Daytona with factory MOP dial which used to be owned by British football player Robbie Savage... What a stunning watch in person, and the weight on the wrist is quite something!! We took the afternoon out to do a spot of window shopping with our golden suprises!! My friend just had to rub it in with his YG Blue Sub.. Where as I on the other hand took the WG Daytona.. And then finally after seeing my friend wearing it, I just had to have it on for a day to test her out.. Very very beautiful timepieces.. Although I always wanted YG.. The white is just soooo special in the flesh! Thanks for looking

Nice Dino. You see.... White gold is so very special and has that subtlety and class that I really like. I think yellow good looks fantastic on the right person and circumstances....and there are many on here that wear them very well.
But no matter how much I want to wear a yellow gold Rolex ... And my preferred choice would be a 116528 black PN dial .... I just can't deal with the obvious gold watch factor. Maybe one day I'll get over it .... Just too ostentatious for me right now. But I have to say the wg Daytona suits you very very well. So... Where does this leave you??

I'm guessing someone has already brought this up but what about a YG GMT II with a green dial. It would give you the splash of color you had with the hulk but still satisfy your want for gold.

Mmm mmm mmm mmm mmm!!!
I do have to say, after going round and round, having seen you try on some lovely and wonderful pieces, and IN SPITE of my Presidential love, I think that YG Blue Sub is the best watch on and for you. It just seems RIGHT for you, Dino. I do like that 1980's bark DD on you, especially with the Romans, but I think the Blue YG Sub is it for you, friend. I'm dying to know how your quest is progressing!! Please fill us in! Good to see you back, btw!

Very nice pictures Dino! Those watches fit you all very well! I must say I prefer the Day-Date but I can't get over that Daytona's gorgeous MOP dial!

Wait a sec! The WG Daytona is only $12k? If that's the case do not think twice!

Dino, Dino, Dino get the wg buddy. I love it and I mean love it. Sure it looks like an amazing watch but I agree with you the YG is just to much for me... Too much flash that is. The wg is so stealthy and especially on the Daytona Here is mine to give you another pic

Fun day for you Dino!
The WG Daytona looks much better on you than the bark DD imo.
You'd get the sporty, casual and dress look all in one watch. Happy hunting! Looking foward to decision time. |
