My dad's 1973 Cellini given by Richard Nixon

My dad died 10 years ago and left me a watch. In his prime, he was friends with the Nixon family and was invited to the inauguration of 1973.

At the inaugural ball, my dad was given this Cellini as a gift. I have pictures of the event and pics of our family with the Nixons when I was a kid .

My dad left me nothing when he died - except this watch. Now I'm beginning my Rolex collection.

Nice watch story, as New Jerseyean I always had a fondness for Nixon.
Especially since he lived here in retirement.

Beautiful watch and a great story!

How did your dad come to be friends with the Nixon’s?
Did your dad wear the watch regularly?

Wow!!! Very cool. Nixon had a few watches, he was known for wearing his Vulcain Cricket, which was known as the "President's watch" long before the Rolex.

The term 'President" originally the name of the new bracelet which was introduced on Eisenhower's 18k DJ in the mid 50s.Of course, Johnson forever linked the 1803 Day Date "President" during his famous picture showing his fresh appendectomy scar in 1965
