Once you get a 116500LN from an AD is it easier to get other sports models?

I finally got the white stainless Daytona from my AD a month or so back and its amazing!

For other people, was it easier to get additional sports models once you got your first one from an AD? Not looking to flip them but just build my collection

why don't you ask your AD?

have you asked your AD for anything else and what would they be?

hard question to answer without knowing more:

Do you have a big and long purchase history, which is why you got the Daytona - then that history will continue to carry you to more watches?

depends on the AD, but they might think you got the Daytona, one the hottest watches on the planet. So they don't to get you anything for a long time.

Is your AD on TRF, he's the only one who can answer this query.

I would think that if your AD got you a steel Daytona you would have already owned every Rolex sports and every Rolex classic line watch. Only watches that come after a lengthy purchase history are the blue dial Skydweller, the green dial Daytona, RG DD green dial, and the steel Daytona. Ask your AD how you were fortunate enough to get a Steel Daytona but still haven't got a SUB, GMT, Seadweller, Explorrer I II?

I would say at my AD if you got a Daytona from them you would get whatever else you asked for too. Might have to wait a bit but you really would get it.

If you’ve received a steel Daytona, chances are you’ve spent some serious money at that AD and surely you’ll get another hot piece in due time.

Fair question.
I just got my white dial last recently as well and I have wondered the same thing.
I wouldn’t be surprised if I go back to the queue for a while whilst I purchase a few easier to get pieces.
Time will tell, I will wait a few months and see how it goes.

Simple common sense answer ask your AD.

For sure OP.

I walked in and got on the AD's list for a white faced Daytona about 9 months ago. First time buyer. They called me back a few weeks later and I bought it. I told them I would like to buy others and gave him my wish list; Batman (or girl whatever comes in first), Starbucks, Pepsi. So far within 6 months I have gotten the Pepsi and Starbucks. When I collected the Starbucks I then added the Green Lantern, Weed watch and the Meteortona to my wish list. My AD is awesome so I am sure you will get those that you want.

In my experience no unfortunately after getting the black Daytona as they consider it as a reward for the other DJs that I have purchased and that I have redeemed the reward. So even now for the new Daytona OysterFlex with meteorite I was quoted a waiting time for 2 years because apparently they only get 1 per year which I’m a bit hesitant to believe

This is usually how my ad works, you get something and then they go to others regardless of what comes in because you got ‘something’.

You've got most Rolex enthusiasts end game reference...think you will be just fine with obtaining other references.

I was told Daytona would be the last. They've basically handed over a giant check to you so asking for a sub after that is a bit of a roll eyes situation.

Not in my experience. I was lucky enough to receive the black dial after a 2 month wait in 2018 (very lucky indeed). I requested another SS piece in 2020 which I did not get. It surprised me. The AD felt I had been taken care of recently enough. I cannot say that I didn’t agree, it just surprised me

I think some ADs try to spread the wealth a bit. I don't think hard to get models count as much towards your purchasing power as do other models. Ive bought several watches over the years at my AD. They got me the 116500 White in 2017 and they give me the impression it will be awhile before they get me something else. I would not mind a date sub or GMT but no luck.

I don't know.

But I respect the fact that I "earned the right*" to buy one at MSRP. So I won't be asking for another hard-to-get model for quite some time.

I think another waiting, eager, qualified customer is next up for something hard to get.

Also, I have on order the Meteorite Day-Date, which is becoming harder to get.

I've spent quite a bit on watches the past year or so, so my collection is in the honeymoon phase.

* Please don't discuss "Earned the Right." These things have been recorded so many times in the past. And simply a matter of perception. Please don't beat the dead horse - it's already pulp.

I got my Daytona C first and then an Sd 43 and my wife bought me a pepsi for my birthday. I think it depends on your relationship with the AD.

Depends how nice the bottle of booze that you purchased for your SA was...if you went for a really good X.O., you might be getting a call. If you opted for a bottle of Strawberry Spumante, probably not.

I would say that it is all about being personable and a straight-shooter with anyone, including ADs or just in general life situations. If you’re genuine with a true passion for the product that radiates from you, you will get their attention, and as such the pieces you desire. My 2 cents.

Yup - you mean you didn’t get unsolicited calls for their last blue dial 5711 or the new one with the green dial? Speaking of green dials, they didn’t drive a Daytona 116508 green dial by the next day in case you wanted it ... maybe in a Porsche 911R they would sell you as a discount? Not even something as simple as an A. Lange & Sohne Odysseus in SS?

Wow, what a rip. I thought the SS Daytona got you everything you ever wanted.
