Rolex Datejust 41 Wimbledon legibility

I know this has been previously discussed but interested to hear any updates from new owners.

Owners of the Datejust 41 Wimbledon (preferably the SS), do you have any issues with legibility in certain lighting?

Thanks!

It’s not a crazy concern. Every once in a while I have a bit of a legibility issue when the light hits it wrong. But overall it’s been fine.

I’ve owned a smooth/oyster SS version for a few weeks now and consider it very good in the legibility department.

I think a smooth bezel helps the legibility too.

I don't own one, but saw and tried one on just yesterday at my local jeweler and was very surprised how much I liked it. It's amazing how different watches can look when you see them in person as opposed to just viewing pictures online. I never really paid much attention to this reference, but after yesterday, I wouldn't mind owning one!

Legibility looked good to me, but I only handled it for about 5 minutes under their studio lighting.

I think you will like it. I do like mine despite the occasional legibility issue. I notice the same in the rhodium dial DJs. There needs to be just a touch more contrast between the hands and the dial.

To me that photo really shows how much harder it is to read the time on this model vs Datejusts with lumed baton markers. The Wimbledon is a beautiful watch but if legibility is a concern you gotta go with the batons IMO.

Thanks everyone! What a beautiful picture and legibility doesn't seem like an issue. I guess that's what sports watches are for....

There are some that are more legible but it's not a problem at all to see. In low or dim light the hands reflect and show well with a slight turning of the wrist if needed. It's really not much at all to give up for such a beautiful dial.I've had mine 18 months now and have zero regrets..

Don't get me wrong, I love the watch. Just saying the dark hour markers and lack of simple to read lumed batons just make it more difficult to read in certain light conditions.

The baton version with the same rhodium/slate dial doesn't have those issues

Somehow these have flown under my radar! Are these still available from Rolex? (smooth bezel, oyster bracelet)

It's just a regular DJ41 face option.
So you get to choose bezel and bracelet.

I find this one to be more pleasing on my somewhat smaller wrist. I've tried the wimbledon and, as nice as it is, I find that the numerals make the dial appear to be larger than it is when compared to a stick marker dial.

I know it's a visual thing, but it was something that really stood out.

Great shots. For me, this is the best value in current production Rolex right now for under $10k. Either oyster/smooth or jubilee/smooth.

Especially if you can’t get a sports mode for retail, look at the oyster/smooth version as a very sporty alternative.

Sometimes in dark light or if I check the time super fast, it might take an extra sec... but then you get lost in that dial, so does it really matter? :)

Seriously though, not many issues.
