Up till 1960 the Rolex used the word SWISS then dials were Radioactive Radium lume from around early 1960 on Rolex used T.Swiss.T less than 277 MBq (7.5mCi) and Swiss <T25 less than925 MBq (25mCi)on there dial depending on how much radioactivity Tritium they had from 1960 till mid/late 1998.Swiss only dials were then used with Luminova from 1998 to 2000, then after 2000 back to Swiss Made with Superluminova. But like all lume on modern day Rolex watches there is no switch to turn it off or on, they all need light, whether natural daylight or artificial light to charge the lume to glow in very dark places.Plus the larger the lume plots hands total area the brighter the lume will seem to glow, and would doubt if it would show any patina like the Tritium dials..And now we have Cromolight but its possibly just a colour variation of luminover. Now the green colour Luminover and super luminover was made by Nemoto a Japanese luminous paint maker they moved a part of its factory from Japan to Switzerland in 1998 in Joint-ventured with RC-Tritec AG. This was to establish Luminova AG Switzerland for supplying Luminova to all the Swiss watch industry including Rolex and most all of the other major brands. The new more on the blue spectrum Chromolight is a Rolex trademark and a just made up name, but again this could be a special colour blend of luminous paint by Nemoto for Rolex, I would doubt if Rolex themselves would make the lume paint.
