3285 lost 8 seconds overnight

Hi all. Hope all is well! my CHNR lost 8 seconds last night. I put my Bose headphone near it yesterday and I wonder if the magnetism causing it to lose so many seconds overnight? It had been within standards since I got it but just last night. I just reset it to see what is going to happen. Thank you!

When did you last fully wind it? Fully wind it and see how it behaves.

The driver in speakers of course uses a magnet. I suppose it's possible but the magnetic field is so small I just wonder if that is really it

Your 3285 will not be magnetised.

Keep an eye on it, yours might be developing a common issue where there is excessive wear on the seconds gear pivot. Might need a full service (under warranty) in the near future.

Like many others, my DJ41 began to run slowly so off it went to RSC in October 2018. All was well until recently. We have learned there is a 3235 design issue that causes excess wear on the seconds gear pivot. A trip to RSC gets only a temporary fix and hopefully Rolex will eventually roll out a permanent fix.

I've been more closely monitoring my watch the past three weeks and here is what I see each week. Each day shows TOTAL gain/loss since Day 1. Watch is worn daily for at least 12 hours and I am active.

On day 1 it gets a full wind
Day 2 = +2
Day 3 = +4
Day 4 = +4
Day 5 = +4
Day 6 = -1
Day 7 = -9

So apparently winding it more often helps overcome the seconds gear pivot wear???

Not sure if this will be helpful, but I recently had an issue with my CHNR. It ran one second fast all day when worn on the wrist. Then at night when it sat on the nightstand it began losing seconds below the -2 tolerance. It got sent to Rolex and they said it was a warranty issue. Honestly, I am not really certain what they did to it, but it runs perfectly now at +1 second daily always. I should mention, the watch was only a few months old and the problem existed from the start.

Best of luck.

My Pepsi had the same issue. And then it would die after a few hours off the wrist. And then it died while wearing. I sent it in 3 months ago and haven’t received it back yet. I don’t wear the CHNR enough to see if it suffers the same problems. Guess I should start wearing it more.

That movement has had some binding and lube issues.
Send it in.
Get a warranty fix.
Receive it back operating perfectly.
Enjoy.
