Best NYC Steak... agree or disagree?

So part of my role has been, up until March, to entertain clients and I have been to each of these restaurants at least 20 times in the last 15 years and more then a few others in NYC but for steak I am curious how you think these ladies did summing it all up cause I think they did...

saving my own opinion until I see some comments

I ate at Wolfgang's about 14 years ago and I thought it was top notch.

It really really is!! and if I had to pick one omission these ladies should have included that would have been it. I think it gets diluted in the higher echelon of steak joints because of the multiple locations maybe?

There are older threads here on NYC steakhouses where you’ll find ample info and opinions. Bottom line is you mostly can’t go wrong with any of the top names. It really comes down to the particular steaks that the cook happened to grab from the fridge, if the steaks were adequately cooked to your desired temperature preference, and chemistry with the waitstaff.

Of course a more immediate factor is if the restaurant is still open for dining indoors during these Covid times.

I agree with the above. No real best for me either if you're just looking at food quality. Obviously atmosphere/decor is more of a personal thing.

And if you'll notice I've commented on most of them, if the subject tires you please move on or share your opinion, simply pointing out its been talked about before is the epitome of stating the obvious.

To be honest some of the best meals I've had in Manhattan have been when a reservation went south or a choice was changed. Best steak I ever had was in Vegas and it pains me to say it cause I'm a purist

Oh right Salt-bae, they got shut down in Boston because of crowds and COVID violations. All the middle aged house wives beat a path to his opening and it was a chit-show... I will wait for a good while before I darken that door step LOL

No charge cards accepted at Luger’s, Danny. Cash or their own in-house card only.
I wonder if, because of Covid, you can actually get a reservation at PL’s now. I’m guessing no.

Wife and I had NYE dinner at Gordon Ramsey’s located at Caesars Casino Atlantic City.
The 10oz. Filet was one of the best I’ve had in years.

Been to all three steakhouses and plenty of others in the city. My favorite was Keen’s until I went to Luger. The bacon at Luger is also the best in town!

I'm not a foodie and the only steak I really eat is generally a filet mignon I cook myself which is pretty excellent.

What other steaks do you recommend. I've had some that are tough as leather but obviously not cooked properly.

I'm sort of in the "medium" camp.

Glad I've seen this, was taking the kids to NY for their first time in July 2020 which got cancelled due to the pandemic.

Will keep this thread in mind for when I rebook as the kids love their steak.

Fingers crossed for 2021

It’s been so many years since I’ve been to NYC to dine I can’t really remember. There was this little place near the south end of Central Park ... I know that doesn’t narrow it down 57th and 5th maybe
