Fitting a leather strap to a 5513

I'm looking to fit a vintage tan military style leather strap to my 5513, but when I took the bracelet off, the spring bars appear to be 'fixed' into the 80 endlinks. By this I mean there is a wider part to the pins between where it exits from the endlink and before the spring part of the pin starts. Make sense to anyone?

As such, in order for me to fit the leather band, I'm going to need new spring bars. Obviously I need 20mm bars, but what type should I look for, i.e. single flange / double flange and what diameter? And good sources for quality stainless bars?

Thanks

Go to a local Rolex AD and buy Genuine Rolex Spring Bars Only. I would not use anything else.

OK, but bearing in mind as a complete novice with only a couple of weeks of reading forums such as this, I seemed to know more about Subs and Sea Dwellers than the guy in my local AD, I'd still be interested to know what type of spring bars I should expect to be offered...

Otto Frei has 20 mm spring bars made for rolex. They come in a pack of a dozen.

Those spring-bars are only for the cases with through holes......... They will not fit a case without holes..

Of course the 5513 does have the through holes, but your strap may not have large enough pockets for these 2mm thick bars to go through.. check first or be prepared to ream out the leather...
