6263 - Should I Go For It?
I've been bitten by the vintage bug and now the 6263 is on my radar. Problem is, I haven't been able to have a look at one in person so I'm feeling a bit apprehensive.
My biggest concern is perhaps the size. I've seen the watch referenced as 37-38mm but I'm wondering how it wears in relation to it's modern counterparts. Just for reference, I've been wearing a 42mm Omega Planet Ocean and an Audemars Piguet Diver for the last little while. Thanks in advance :) |

1) buy and study the book http://www.hoepli.it/libro/rolex-day...6001644931.asp
2) go to a well reputated reseller and look at as many 6263 as you can... only experiece dreives you on the right way... 3) ask to someone more experienced to go with you to buy yours Grail Good Luck

You really need to try it on to make sure you're comfortable with the size.
Wouldn't surprise me if you find it wears too small. Welcome to the forum. |

Well, you will surely have to try it out especially if you plan on wearing it often and size is a big issue for you. Offcourse there are the vintage DRSD's and subs at 40mm if you must go bigger:).

Thanks for the warm welcome and the advice chaps!
I've been in touch with my mate (who happens to be a dealer of vintage watches) and he hasn't had a 6263 in for a while now, so I've been struggling to find one to try on. I've heard that (despite being larger) it wears a trifle smaller than a modern Datejust. I think it was that statement that's got me a little worried. |

I have tried on a few 6263's over the years and didn't think they wore much differently to my modern one.
