Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscope Complete Calendar

So, after trying on a couple of Panerai, I stopped at the Blancpain section in the fantastic Bucherer in Selfridges. I tried a new 43mm Bathyscope Complete calendar. Wow, what a watch. Light, understated and whilst odd complications for a diver, just a superb watch. Under £10k, where the FF complete calendar is £16k, but so much less in your face. Definitely a piece worth considering.

I think that looks a lot better than the JLC press photo.

I was shopping there too, over Christmas, looking at the new Blancpains
I'd thought that looked really odd when it came it, the very sparse design of the Bathyscaphe mashed with a whimsical moon phase calendar, but I too tried it on and by god, it's a lovely watch !
The price is bang on, and about $7K cheaper than the more outwardly simple Annual Calendar that I'd originally been interested in.

not my pic:

Wow that is really interesting. Some strange complications to pair with a diver...but a very cool result. I’m very surprised by the price relative to the annual calendar!

And I do love Bathyscaphes!!

Apologies if it’s slightly off the topic...I just really like to show that one off!

At the moment dreams only! If it all falls into place this year, who knows! Great to focus though ;)
