ALS 1815 Chronograph
Anyone has experience on this? I'm looking at the WG black dial one and would love some feedback on how you rate it against say a PM Daytona or Patek (I know it's on a different level in finishing but still would like some real life experience).
Does anyone know what the water resistance of these are? Can't seem to find info on it. Also would you recommend skipping this and go directly to Datograph instead? Anyone use it as a daily? Is it robust? The photo is taken while trying out the the sizing as AD doesn't have the WG ones. Thanks in advance. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk |

The 1815 Chronograph is basically a Datograph minus the date and with a dressier dial. Unless you want a sportier looking dressy watch in platinum or you want a date, the 1815 Chronograph is easily the better buy. Lange's finishing is far better than Patek's and their movements are much better looking as well.
Your water resistance comment, however, is concerning. This is not a watch meant for water, nor is the Patek. If that's a concern, get a Daytona instead. Regardless, the 1815 Chronograph and a Daytona will still be cheaper than a Patek chronograph and you'll get the best of both worlds. |

The finishing and case back view of this watch is so impressive that one of the best living watchmakers in the world, Dufour, bought one (RG Datograph)
It is however not a sports watch so really not the same type of watch as a Daytona. |

I don’t think you should concern yourself with water resistance for a Lange. These aren’t meant to go near water. It’s okay to wear the watch while washing your hands after using the bathroom but you shouldn’t wear it in the shower or if you’re washing dishes,

Dato is a lot heavier and chunky vs 1815. If you are not a fan of the big date, then this is it. Quality of finishing is top notch and caseback wins over many Pateks.

I like the 1815 but not as a stop gap, if the Dato is the end game then go to that.

Totally agree. Same movement but the Dato is awesome, especially in platinum. It’s one of the ones I sold and later regretted. Patek talks a big game but right now ALS has them beat in quality and finish.

I believe that the water resistance is 30 m. So pretty standard across dress watches and the different Lange offerings. It can handle a splash should it happen.
