Question on 5512?
They are selling me a Rolex 5512 with a domed plexiglass, the guy says it was serviced in 2004, he has the papers, but everything stayed original. Would should I look out for and what would be a reasonable price for it, thanks in advance guys, its in really good condition

To my untrained eye it looks to be in pretty good condition. Although the 5 o'clock lug looks a bit overpolished.
Some of the resident Rolex Guru's will soon chime in.... Good luck!!! |

As I stated above I am no expert, but the in house guru's may need additional pictures to really give you a better idea of value and condition. So if possible please post more pics at different angles to really capture to key features of the watch. |

My ball park is 5k head. I think the Rolex service papers(500) and the bracelet(750) add a bit to the value. Maybe 5500
Here is one that ended on eBay today at $4500 http://www.ebay.com/itm/120808360825...84.m1423.l2649 |

I wouldn't worry abt the crystal. If it is aftermarket who cares. I own a 1977 5512 that I traded a 1968 1600 SS Datejust even for. A week after I traded for it my watch guy took the watch apart removed the crystal and it was cracked at the bottom this was probably the original one. I would rather have a new aftermarket than a cracked original that would allow water into the movement. Anyway I think the superdome was for the 1665 Seadweller not the no date subs. I have had alot of no date subs and non had super domes on them the only super dome I had was in 2002 I bought and unfortunatly sold a double red sea dweller that had a super dome. And if you see the pictures of the people in the era wearing 5512 or 5513s they weren't super domes

Yep, that's a nice 5512. Dial matches serial, rivet bracelet, and service papers.
Jacek is right about the price as well. |
