Coke vs. Pepsi

I am interested in getting a vintage gmt ii.. I don't like the way black face and blue part of the Pepsi, match so well so I tend to shy away from the Pepsi and lean more towards the Coke bc of the black face and black and red dial...

Which is nicer though?

Totally your choice. Both are nice, and I have both bezels. I like Pepsi hands-down better and find it to have a little more pop, thus it is usually the one on my watch. I think coke is nice, but too similar to solid black, and since I have a GMTiiC as well, the blue of the Pepsi gives me more variety. Can't go wrong either way though.

You have the one watch with both bezels? Can you change it yourself?

Quite easily, takes about 5 min. Good videos on this forum
on how to do it. If you've never done it before or don't want to, any watchmaker can change it for you for free. Beze insert is about $75 at any AD.

We are a Coca Cola household, shunning Pepsi at all opportunities (grin). So it is hard for me to say, but I do prefer the Pepsi coloring.

This is SUBJECTIVE. It's important that you don't listen to the public, listen to your heart.

There are people on this forum that like subs but dislike YMs. Or love Day-Dates and can't understand why people like GMTs.

Don't listen to us. We don't buy Rolexes because they make sense. We buy them because they sing out to us.

That's the great thing about GMT. It has multiple looks easily interchangeable.

Which ever one sings to, that's the nicest. I like them both as well as the black. If I had to choose just one though it would be the Pepsi.

Sounds like you've got your mind made up... I went with coke over pepsi because I preferred the red/black contrast. If you go vintage and you can find an old Bakelite GMT master, the blue darkens to almost black and it's looks amazing...

I faced the same dilemma a couple of weeks ago...I decided to go with the Pepsi bezel. I did try to find a coke bezel to keep around but wasn't lucky finding one. Only two dealers in the DC area and none of them had it...and one in Costa Rica where I spend most time, I still need to check with them.
