Going to NYC, best selection on pre owned?
I'm traveling to NYC soon. Who has the best selection of preowned watches?

Honestly, I grew up in the city and go there often, but it’s not exactly the ideal place to look at buying used pieces. The boutiques are awesome for browsing new inventory, but for used, the trusted sellers on here seem to have better deals and better pricing. Plus no need to worry about if they are legit, etc.

If you're brave, you could go to the diamond district on West 47th. There are many, many watch dealers there with used Rolexes and other high-end brands. However, be very careful. There are some good, honest dealers there, but there are some shady ones, too. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions. I have been watching over a year for the watch I want to pop up for sale and it hasn't yet. I'm patient but would still like to look around.
Been looking for a two tone mid yacht master with black mop or slate dial. |

It is not a shady part of town for your physical safety. Some of the merchants may be shady. There are many, many jewelry merchants in that area.

Best thing you can do IMHO is head to some of the better known ADs that have decent stock and TRY ON as many watches as you can. Then you will have better idea as to what model you are targeting.
Then head back to TRF and check out the for sale section!

Nothing wrong with the diamond district so check it out. Lots of new and used watches to look at and many hard to find items as well. All of them are 100% authentic. They are grey dealers and used dealers. If the price is right, buy. If not, keep walking.

Not sure I agreed with this. Not all of them are 100 percent authentic. I know from experience. Maybe "most of them" are authentic would be more accurate. I've also seen quite a few cobbled-together Frankenwatches there that might technically be all-Rolex, but that also should be avoided.

The diamond district is an excellent place to browse but probably not the place to buy imHo. I live close, go there often and have never bought a watch there. I had a service done onu DJ at one place and was not happy.

Check out Wempe or tourneau If you want to check out a big stock. Again though, don't buy.
You'll find in the diamond district that all sellers will tell you they can get what you're looking for but most don't have it. They'll call a guy who can get it later or tomorrow. If you go to 3 places they'll all call that same guy.
