Consolidate to something really nice $25-30k. Pocket the change and wear your new piece for a weekend in Vegas with the extra dough.

Why hold on to things that don't provide you satisfaction anymore? And if you don't need the cash, sell the bloody "handcuffs" and donate the money to charity.

All is not gold that glitters
If you do not need the money keep the. I think that is better than having the dollars in the bank. But to convince yourself about the sale try to offer them. You'll see that what you're getting is very, very far from what you might think.
Try to offer them and you'll have a clear picture of the situation |

I would raffle one off to your favorite charity. If you have kids, go to their next local school function, tell the parents that you want to raffle off a Rolex with the proceeds say, going to Make a Wish Foundation, let the whole school know about and make a contest. It's a win win, you get a tax break, someone who really appreciates it will get a nice Rolex, and you give a child with cancer a good time.

Since you don't need to liquidate them, I say keep them. They will increase in value. Much more so than money in the bank.

Hi guys,
Appreciate all your inputs. It is not that I am tired of my particular watches, I am tired of watches in general. If all 6 of my Rolexes turn into Pateks, I will still be sick of them. I just feel like I don't wanna look at watches in general, and what brand they are is irrelevant. I think the best action to take is to let them sit ...the value of my collection is only headed up...at a snail's pace, but up ... thank you |

From what you've said, you're not all that certain of what to do. If I were you, I'd sit tight for a while, put them away and see what your thoughts are after 6 months to a year. You've got a great collection which obviously you put a lot of thought into and it would be a shame to make a hasty decision which you may regret down the line. Just my 2 cents!

Hey mate,
I'm getting close, I'm 52 need reading glasses, can't even see the date anymore! My I-phone has the perfect time. And 30k debts that could be wiped!!! What should "I" do!! It's not that I don't like them, I just can't enjoy them without glasses!

Since you have lost interest completely in watches in general, you should really sell away your collection and keep the cash. Make no sense to keep them if you are no longer enjoying them. Rolex watches are after all luxury items which value is determined by what people willing to pay for it. And that can change suddenly if the economy takes a bad turn .....

Unless you financially need to, you will regret selling any.

Sell the collection and put the money to a good use.
I am sorry to burst your bubble, but you only need so many watches in your life and if you've reached the point (and it sounds like you did), stop tying up useful capital in items that you do not enjoy and live a little. If you don't want to spend $35K on something for yourself, think of charities and other opportunities, like loaning money to people in need or simply playing on the stock market for fun. As for the kids, I am pretty sure they can learn how make money, save and buy watches on their own. |
