$300k (USD) watch that doesn't tell time?!
Thought this was interesting.
WSJ Blog - $300k watch Makes my Rolex purchases that much more reasonably priced comparably. |

Yes, it tells you when it's day so you can hide your silly face from embarrasment and it tells you when it's night so you can bring out the damn thing and no one can see your embarrasment.

But it's made from an un-sinkable ship, that has to be worth something?

It's just one of the stupidest things I've ever seen or heard of. They've recently started selling Romaine Jerome timepieces in my town, and when the guy tried to get me to try one on I just told him nicely but firmly to keep the accursed piece of fecal matter away from me.
Taking a closer look at the twin tourbillon movement, it's conceivable that one can use the tourb indicator to tell which 12 hour day or night segment one is currently in. But for that money, give me a FP Journe Grand Sonnerie anyday, which is almost double the price. |

Someone will buy this one though. They got snatched up in record time. Lee: I hope you are doing well. I have not seen any of you brilliant postings in the last few days. Terry Newton

Terry: Been busy with a few things, and checking rate deviation on a couple of watches. Going to a Chopard post-Basel dinner tonight, so should have something to report!
Back on topic... this just brings to mind a whole load of emotions about new brands working up the exclusivity ladder, perceived or otherwise. I mean, a 12 hour tourbillon?? Where's the innovation in that? No dial, no time indication? What for? Has the ugly supercilious front of Post-Modernism moved over the horological horizon? |

I know. You are absolutely right on the money. It is uglier than home made s--t .
Glad you're doing well. I look forward to your report. Terry Newton

Breguet the inventor of the Tourbillon in the first place. That is one sharp looking watch instead of that rusted out hunk of bolts on the other watch.
Nice tastes. Terry Newton
