London Heathrow Rolex DateJust II

Went into the Watches of Switzerland store in Terminal 4 looking for a specific DJII. They didn't have it there but they had one at their Terminal 3 location. They had a courier bring the watch to me in T4 in about 20 mins.

First of all, the prices at Heathrow are great for US residents/travelers. Picked up a new DJII for cheaper than what a pre-owned one would have been in the States. Service was good and friendly. It was my first Rolex purchase although it felt odd at an airport. Overall a great experience and price. Just wanted to give WoS at Heathrow a good review. Highly recommend.

I bought a BLNR at T5 in Heathrow yesterday at the Rolex boutique. I saved about £1100, or $1600.
It happened for me ;o)

congrats on your purchase and great price also!

May I ask did you ring the Rolex boutique prior to arriving at terminal 5, or did you just go in there and ask if they had a BLNR available?

Curious as I too will be traveling from t5 soon

I got my DJ at t3, i gave them 2 months to get exactly what I wanted.
They can get source any Rolex model for you if give them sufficient time ie a 4-5weeks.

They won't source or put aside any of the sports models for you especially the SS versions. As for the BLNR, forget it. They won't source this one at all for you. I was lucky as I was treated as a VIP for reasons I won't share and they put aside the BLNR when it came in.
By all means call them and check.
Their customer service is superb I might add.

How do you save £1100? The price is discounted by the VAT, so if/when you return to the UK the watch should be declared and VAT would be due.

Maybe not, but worth clarifying that it isn't really a saving of £1100, in the same way as stealing one isn't a saving of £5950

As an American I've bought 2 Rolexes, an Omega, & a Baume et Mercier(Heathrow) in the UK. The VAT savings are a HUGE deal.

If I were to buy something requiring a visit to USA Customs, generally how long of delay should I plan for? I believe we are leaving Heathrow on a Saturday morning.

Can I buy there upon arrival in Heathrow (when I'll have more time) or is it only for departure? If they're set up like most US airports, you have to go out to come back in, and then all of the stores are after you go through security, which requires a boarding pass.

You have to have a ticket, be passed security, & departing the UK in order to purchase from the shop.
