I've got several other Rolex and Patek watches, but think the blue/black GMT is the one that grabs my heart. It also has the very useful second time zone feature in military time. The Datona is striking, but I avoid watches with many complications, especially complications for which I have no use. It's interesting, I can afford just about any Rolex but the reason I can is that I almost never exercise that ability. The money stays where it earns more money for me.

If you have that budget, why not go to the top grade of modern SS GMT II C - BLNR?

It's a beauty for sure. I'd also consider Subs in the same price range, if that's your thing.

GMT Ln is a fantastic choice. It's very versatile.

Perfect choice. Classic Rolex tool look in steel and black. A bit more dressy with the PCL, yet not too much. And great complication for a lot of us who travel and or have to consider a second time zone. A close second would be a SDc, similar look, a bit more tool watch and slightly more WIS diver choice if you have the need for that complication or want to pay homage to the water world...

I'm not a huge fan of PCL's even though both your DJII and the GMT are great choices for a first and second watch. If you'll have just 2 steel sport watches I would choose one without PCL's for a different and less flashy/dressy look.
I'd personally go wit the SD4000 since it also doesn't have the cyclops that your DJII has, but you really can't go wrong here |

For around $10K, I'd be looking to pair a 16570 Polar with a 16710 GMT Coke

I have the YM 2 and trust me it's not an everyday wear. Granted mine is TT, but it's more of a weekend' watch as the White dial is more of a novelty item.
For everyday wear GMT is great! Saw my mate last night rocking it, looks gorgeous from close and from afar! Go GMT II my friend. |

BLNR!!!! Still rare and in high demand. You don't see them in stock or in the case at most ADs.

I'd say GMT LN, I own both hulk and GMT. I found GMT to be a more comfortable wearer and it has complication so I found myself playing with it more. Hulk is defo pleasing to the eye though!

The GMT has three great choices in your budget. The LN with the green 24hr hand and writing is stunning. The BLNR is outstanding with the blue black bezel. The TT with the big gold numbers on the black bezel is very bold and hard to take your eyes off it when wearing. Also look at the Sub Date and The Sea Dweller 4000. Tough choices my friend and you will be left with the feeling " I should have" and start budgeting for the next.

For me as a primary or secondary watch a GMT has to be there!
