Does anyone think that this is disgracing what Rolex does and the name?

I really don't like it at all. I don't think there's a point to Rolex if you're basically just keeping the movement of the watch and making everything else aftermarket.

Thoughts?
Disgracing Rolex? Absolutely not. I celebrate our differences, as well as how a watch on our wrist reminds us of how similar we really are.

Those are my thoughts.

Do you think Maybach, Bentley or Rolls Royce gets bothered when an Athlete, Rapper etc get a pink car with monster spinning rims and a bass heavy sound system? A smart company cares about their sales. What customers do afterwards with their product is their choice.

This is good example of how a company can lose business by NOT being careful about their comments in this day and age. Regardless of what you think on a personal level its smart to be politically correct when you are running a huge business that doesn't want to be associated with anything negative or what can be "PERCEIVED" as racist.

Appreciation (value) can occur on many levels.
So say the best coffee comes from squirrels bums and hence pay 10 times more than Nescafe....
In the end its all material, which in real terms does not ultimately rate compared to the value of ones health, integrity and spiritual well being.

Some of the workmanship to make these pieces "iced out" is fantastic, wether it's to your taste or not.
I follow Mr Flawless from NYC on Instagram and ally of the watches he posts are aftermarket set. And some look really good.

Does anyone else get annoyed with these rappers blinged out Rolex watches?

No issues with all the bling and even wearing a large clock as a necklace. You be you and I'll be me!

Chaps

These guys own the watches so they have the right to do what they want with them and it has got nothing to do with anyone else.

The word "freedom" springs to mind.

Regards

They have been doing this since the early 2000's. Mid 2000's was worse (you saw it much more). Nowadays many rappers/athletes/... wear (blinged out) AP's and Patek.

It's barely noticeable.

Is it just rappers that bother you? What if your company's CEO did it? Would you feel better about it then?

Marketing is central to any luxury product..and that includes Rolex. The 'wrong' customers can be a problem . The clothing firm, Burberry, got upset when working-class English youths started adopting their designs. Burberry felt it cheapened their image and worked hard to get a 'better' customer base.
I doubt that firms like Rolls Royce like some of the customisation, but if you pay them, they'll do it. In the end, it's about money.
