Rolex OP Date question
I have an OP Date, model 15053 that I was given new in 1988. Foolishly, I had the dial changed from gold to black a few years ago so it was easier to see.
I'm wondering if anyone knows what the available dial colours from that era are and if so, where I might be able to see pictures of them? As above, I wish I hadn't changed the dial but since it has been changed, I would like to see if there's a blue dial that Rolex would put in for me. Thanks for your help on this. Don

A good dealer should have a catalog that shows the dials available for you, or , sending it in to the RSC for a service and they will tell you what dials you may put in.
I think that it was a good change from the impossible-to-read champagne dial to a black one.

Thanks Tools. I could drive into Toronto and go the RSC there and it would be an excuse to take my wife for dinner. The champagne dial is/was very hard to read. I don't wear the watch much as I'm not that fond of the look of it with the black dial. Hopefully there's a nice blue one available.

It would seem the 15053 did come with a blue dial, after a quick search Bob's watches had one for sale before.
