First year that Basel isn’t that exciting tbh. Who cares if you can’t buy it.

Might be pulling the trigger on a new explorer 2 very soon...like this coming Monday soon...so quick responses would be appreciated...I’m obviously going to go with my gut and what I want to do (had to put that bc I’m sure someone would have said that) but your opinions are very much welcome...after all isn’t that one of the reasons we all joined.

Debating wether or not to wait until after Basel world to see what happens. My only concern with that idea is if a new movement is put in the explorer 2 how long of a wait would it be to actually get one? Rhetorical question as I know there is no way of telling. Not too concerned about an increased power reserve bc it’ll be my new everyday wearer. Besides increased power reserve how much better could a new movement be?

I know it’s not a Batman, sky dweller and or Daytona but I’m sure there would still be a decent wait since most guys are still trying to get their hands on last years releases.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I love how this shortage has left many of us with a sense of urgency...if Rolex is trying to accomplish a demand increase, it’s worked lol

I’m also waiting for an updated EXPII and plan on buying a polar when released. I assume nothing new until 2021 for the 50th anniversary but nobody knows for sure. I would buy one now and start the enjoyment earlier.

Personally I’m hopeful they release a white gold version. ‘Tool-watch’ fans be damned. Make mine in gold please

“Tool watch fans be damned” lmao I’m thankful for the explorer line..IMHO the explorer 2 is the perfect everyday wearer...for my needs at least. I’ll more than likely get it tomorrow..going with the black face though...thought I wanted the polar but decided against it.

I won’t mind a PM eventually but my 116613LN is as close as I’m getting for now lol maybe an AP down the line who knows

My daily is a black dial Explorer II. Pretty much the perfect watch in my opinion. Let us know if you pick one up.

I predict more predictions of intentionally unlikely, unwanted, and/or unattractive references.

Here's my contribution

Explorer (31427X):
White, silver, or champagne dial options with date complication (harkens back to 5701 Explorer Date)
Jubilee bracelet option
Tridor (Y/W/R gold) only for 2019, 2-tone (titanium/rose gold) for 2020, steel for 2021 (allocation of 1 per continent)

I agree. What's the point. I'm more interested in what GS comes out with.
For Rolex though it would be nice if they improved on their poor lume.

I won't see whatever they come up with at my local AD's display for years anyway, so doesn't matter. Will be watching Tudor, not Rolex.

Hopefully something that’s a lot more water resistant than the DSSD.

I predict the release of something that many of us (definitely including myself) won't be able to get, even if we really like it

Inevitably, someone is going to be shedding tears (availability, cost, why didn’t my model get the new movement, etc.)

sub c black equipped with the new movement. However I am not anxious for anything. I will add my name to the waiting list if something exciting introduced, or happier if nothing at all

A new movement doesn't interest me. The current and older ones are good enough for me. Other than maybe more power reserve I don't see what's to improve on unless Rolex wants to really get innovative like GS. And really now the power reserve is good enough for me.

Rolex knows that the slimmer lug 16710 and 16610 are shooting up in value. Their R&D team know this too. I expect a shift back to these proportions for upcoming references

Next watch to get the OysterFlex treatment is the GMT. My guess is white gold with a coke bezel.

Just waiting around for a bit here, to see what, if anything, Baselworld offers that I just cannot live without.

If there is nothing, then I am off to get a Tudor Pelagos. And perhaps in the LHD version just because.

A GMT with ceramic bezel that changes to various flavors depending on lighting.
The potential to appear as Coke, Pepsi, Dr Pepper, Dr Brown’s Celery, rootbear, seltzer and of course black.
And that’s from my AD.

Someone here, suggested there would be no Baselworld 2019.
