Time for some new boots
Well it’s time to buy some new casual boots. I bought a pair of Fryes last year and like them but I’m not in love with them. They are a little too wide for my foot so they just never felt right. Quality and such is fine tho, just not in love. I’m now looking for some new ones since fall isn’t to far away and thought I would ask for some suggestions or first hand experience on what casual boots others here are wearing
I will say that the Alden Indy is leading the way for me. I have wanted to try a pair for awhile now but that pick isn’t set in stone yet So how about some ideas.... |

The Alden is fantastic. In all
Seriousness they are more comfortable than my sneakers. Also quite versatile. |

Yea so I have heard. It’s a plus to that they make narrow sizes as I have narrow feet. The Indy are great as are the work boot style, although I can’t remember the name of the model |

You could also look into Wolverine 1000 Mile Collection.

I have heard good things about those but I think I have a mental block about Wolverine boots. I think of them as Walmart brand boots not a better brand like Alden or AE etc. I actually really like that style tho |

I picked up these Red Wing boots last summer and really like them. They are very well made.

Just depends on your budget and the style your looking for but there are quite a few good options out there. However for ther style your currently talking about Vibergs are my favorite.

But when it comes to the best leather although Chromexcel is fabulous and one of the best Zug or Heather Gorse is at the top of my list. But unfortunately Zug is a bit hard to find nowadays.

Now for lower cost boots you really can't beat Redwing although their break in period can sometimes be a bit rough but afterwards however they'll be just fine.

So if you have run out of ideas I have yet too. But then again as I mentioned it would kind of help to establish not only a budget but a style as well.

So did I forget to mention Truman, Rancourt, and Oakstreet Bootmakers? But I've yet to mention a number of others because you forgot to mention a budget or style yet. LOL

The Alden Indy is about $575 for cordovan and about $600 for chromexcel and I’m fine with paying those prices. The other boot of theirs I like is the plain toe. I don’t like a band across the toe. That makes them to dressy for me. |

Personally I would recommend Rancourt over Oakstreet Bootmakers as Rancourt actually makes their boots. However Oakstreet Bootmakers still sell some good shoes and boots.

They'll cost a bit more than the Aldens, but as I said it really depends on your budget.

No cordovan will actually cost you more than that. I think you might want to look at that again.

If that's all my preference would be Vibergs. Of course it's too bad they no longer handsewn their welts but I still would choose Viberg.

Do remember that Fit is King. So if you need assistance with fit and are unable to try them on please just do not go blindly in to that night. Nothing will substitute for trying them on first but at least you can find some help here.
