For British Car enthusiasts
My friend came by yesterday and took me for a ride in this screamer. It's a Triumph TR-6 that carries a nasty surprise under the hood. He has built it from the ground up with frame modifications to accomodate the BMW engine and transmission and Nissan rear end. It also has modernized suspension and Brembo brakes.

Smart looking car. Seem to remember hearing that the TR6 was designed by a German so perhaps it is fitting that this one now has a BMW engine.

Kind of strange...still has the Clutch master cylinder...I wonder what tranny he used. I restored 10 of them in the early 80's.

I enjoyed my british sports cars many years ago. I had a 1961 Triumph TR3, then a 1964 (1st year)TR4 which was a treat to get the roll up windows with that one. Finally I ended up with a 1965 Austin Healy 3000, that was an awesome car. Wish I had it now, they bring in a good buck.

I always loved the the TR-6. About 20 years ago I decided to buy one. I must have gone to see close to ten of them locally, but I couldn't find one without serious rust issues, or poor rust repair.
A TR-6 with an Ansa exhaust is one of the sweetest sounds known to man. Paul |

I should add that it's only the modifications i don't like, not the car itself.

When I was a teenager my older cousin Raymond had a TR6 in a pale blue colour.
Me & my pals were in awe of him for the whole car, dolly-birds, water-bed, mirrored ceiling, velvet wallpaper lifestyle thing Thanks for the memory jog |
