Thoughts on a Rolex 16803
Hello
I have been gathering some great insights on this watch and came across one recently. It's a TT 16803 What are your thoughts on the watch? Its an 1987. R36XXXX serial number. What value would you place on it. |

For a TT shouldn't the hands and markers be gold?

@rwt did you say that because of the lack of Swiss t<25? I've read in several places that the late models (after the tritium) came with the above noted design. It has been something in the back of my mind though.
@georgek the hands are gold, picture may not show it well though. The asking price is $5500 Canadian dollars (4200 usd) |

Sure but they were still making 16613 with Swiss t<25 after this watch was built. Then SWISS for the first batch of luminova after the luminova dials with Swiss t<25 that were left over and THEN SWISS MADE. 16803 never came with a luminova dial. |

That's a pretty easy dial and hand set to source if you want to put it back original. I probably wouldn't because it's more usable as is.
I'd like to see the rest of the watch but as long as everything checks out as real...I say heck of a deal. The bezel is a little polished. It happens. The case looks even and strong. I'd like to see the sides...and the back. The sapphire looks like it has a scratch. That's a little bit of a bummer. Open market 250.00 part. Cheaper in service. The market is soft on these right now. It's a good value. If it was stainless steel you would pay that much. 2 tone models are alway soft it seems....but it's a great watch and if you like it...it's a great value. The 3035 is a wonderful movement that keeps very good time when maintained. Very few real issues with it. I'd rather have a 16613 but you'll spend a lot more money. You could send that to RSC and it would be as new, though it looks like it has already seen them. Any service history or original paperwork? |

Yes! It has all the original papers and the box. I'll try to get more pics soon.
I've read great things about this model. I just love how timeless it is. You can go buy one in 2016 and it'll look damn near identical. |

Lol.
I'll pick it up and wear it for a bit. I really like the explorer 2 in black dial so I may eventually trade this one in but that could be years away. |

@rwt yes, original box and papers accompany the watch. I'll load some more pics over the next few days.
