Tudor Sub Concerns
Hi guys, I don't post here much since I only have one Rolex which I bought this month, I usually post on the OF but I need some advice. I am looking at a Tudor Sub 7016/0 with a 75xxxx serial dating it to 1971. It was brought to my attention that there are a few red flags. I was notified that the dial may either be a fake or a service replacement, if it is a replacement I do not mind. Should it read SWISS-T<25 like this one does or just T SWISS T? The case looks almost too sharp? The case back appears to be heavily polished, but that does not concern me too much but should it not read 71 instead of 68? The crystal is a replacement too I believe, but that is an easy fix. The watch is being offered to me by a friend, he is not misleading me, I just want to know what I'm looking at and let him know as well so that we are both more educated. Thanks for the help everyone.

Whole thing is fake, well case, dial, hands, insert are fake. Movement looks standard ETA with an attached TUDOR rotor, as opposed to a Tudor ETA from another mother.
Take a big pass on this one!

Thanks for the responses. I truly don't think he is being deceitful. He is a nice older gentleman I work with. I believe that he was duped when it was sold to him. I will tell him what I have found out so that he can ask for his money back from the seller since he has not had it that long. Thanks again.

Many people have been taken by these fakes. My only point of cynicism is that the watch is 45 years old. It should never be so flawless. There is no aging to it

This. For a watch that is almost 50 years old, you would expect to see a little wear.
