The box would be correct for your Submariner.

I didn't realize the 1680 case can be fit with the SEL of a modern bracelet (not sure if I care for the polished center links).

This was offered as you see it. The bracelet was replaced by the owner and appeared to fit well. I removed the bracelet since it's not the correct one. Ed

I believe it is a service dial and crystal. Hands as well perhaps, but hart to determine that when not in hand, under a loupe. BUT, chances are they were replaced with the dial. Insert appears to be a service inset too, but Springer knows far better than I do when the fatter font inserts ran out and the thinner ones went into production.
Still a great watch! Enjoy! |

Dial is good and not a service one, bracelet is fake and insert is service, crown is correct and good as the plexi.
I'd like to see a better reference pic, the serial is good 100% |

Interesting. Dial looks exactly like the service dial from my 1680...

Your dial is a service dial and different than the one in the first post which is a Mark I dial.

You are correct.
I did not catch the alignment of the L or the soft point of the noon marker before. Here's the mark I that will be going into my watch: |
