Oportunity to get a White Daytona Ceramic

So I was ready to drop the hammer on a new grey market VC Overseas Chrono (2nd gen) and my AD emails me to tell me she may be able to get me a white dial Daytona ceramic... Would be coming in to the AD next month should I tell her I want it. Want both but budget (and wife) says one...

I would get it. If you don't like it you can always move it.

The D500 is tempting but buy the one you want to wear the most, this is a hobby not a faux stock market.

I agree with this whole heartedly, however if you are torn between the two, I'd go for the Daytona. Despite this not being a true "investment" it will still hold value stronger than the VC, which if you decide you'd prefer you can easily trade or sell for.

The other way around does not work, especially since the opportunity to even purchase the daytona may not present itself again for a very long time.

Its awesome! The VC is nice though. I know I know a Daytona is not an investment but why not buy something you can enjoy and it retain most likely all or most of its value for the foreseeable future.

I 100% agree and if a look into my current watches is an indication you would know that I'm not in it to make money. Many of my pieces are of low value and / or brands most would pass by. I own them because it is what I like. Which is the problem. I like both the Daytona and the Overseas creating my dilemma.

Besides design, the other thing that pops into mind is Daytona has no date and VC has date. Is that a deal breaker for you?

No brainer tona but show your wife the 5k premium to work both, I mean you can't destroy value on the 500 for the next 3-5 years. Bam

Date is not an issue as roughly 1/2 my watches are with date and the other are without the date.

Its really a great piece to own even its just a few months and you decide to flip the fact that you can pick up for MSRP is great

Daytona all the way. Jump on the opportunity before it is too late. Can always get the VC down the road...

Daytona 100%. Wear it and enjoy it. If you're getting it at MSRP, you will never lose on it.

Don't know much about the VC...but all else being equal, I would get the one more difficult to get. I would guess that would be the Daytona?

And then...easy flip if it doesn't pan out for you.

If you are truly on the fence then the D500 makes sense, but not if you really prefer the VCO.
