Interesting to me that you guys are not OK with the Rolex lume.

To me, Lume is one of my biggest priorities. I have had watches with better lume. However, not that much better.

And when I wake up at 2:00 in the morning (every god damned morning), it is shining pretty bright. I have zero complaints with the clarity or readability.

To be honest, I thought my Panerai's lume sucked. I had a 312L, back in the year it was released, maybe I just got a wonky one? I was going to send it in for service it was so disappointing, but decided to just flip instead.

I am surprised no one mentioned the new Explorer 1, 214270.
Mine lasts all night. I do not even using clock. I leave it on my nightstand and can see it the entire night.

Charlize Theron. Best solution ever. Just keep her close to you at night, turn and ask her what time is it.

If you want lume and lume alone, go with a Ball watch. I think they have little gas lights or something on them. Do a google search.

The DJII sounds good too

If you want bright lume that lasts for at least 10 years with little dimming, look at Luminox or Ball watches. They use tritium tubes rather than paint dots that fade in a few hours.

My Sub is legible in the dark for most of the night. Around dusk it can be kind of faint but overall it is pretty good.

Second the Pelagos - no Rolex I own comes close to the brightness or duration of my blue Pelagos - it's amazing and lasts all night when it's charged before bedtime - just spent a week in the Canadian Rockies with mine and it was kickass in all departments, GREAT watch.

The luminova on my yachtmaster glows well enough through the night when I charge it up just before bed.

But, if you want a watch that will glow at all times and not need to be charged up then get a Ball or another tritium tube watch. I have a couple...they are awesome for night time legibility.

Yep, filled tubes.

I think you could read a book in the dark by it!

Kinda bulky, though, since I'm used to a stealthy Explorer II.
(I use the ExpyII for nighttime, just the same, and it suits my need.)

Preferably something with Mercedes hand and large lume. I find my Exp II (with black dial) 16570 at 40mm is both comfortable and legible during the night hours. As others have said, the Black Bay has great lume as well!!!

My SubC ND isn't the brightest, but it tells me each time the time at night for now. Much better then my Daytona.

A Seiko. I can charge my SLA017 at 10pm and it'll still be legible at 5am. Not joking, not exaggerating. My 2016 Explorer pales in comparison.

You are absolutely right!
I am keen on getting this very model.

Understated, classy and legible.
Actually torn between getting this and the Batman.

But at the back of my mind I am almost certain I might end up with both. (insert wishful thinking emoji here : )

cheers
