Rolex Marconi - Ebay Authenticity

Hey guys,

First post here. I am looking at buying a Vintage Rolex / Marconi that is listed on Ebay. I have attached a few photos, hopefully you can shed some light on its authenticity for me. I have purchased an Air King many years ago as a gift for my Dad however it was new and from a well known dealer.

Thanks for any advice!
Kevin

It has a refinished dial, so it's value is really not there. If you like it, and can pick it up cheap, it would be a nice piece for you to wear and enjoy. If you're thinking investment and potential resale later, IMHO forget it.

Thanks Moo,

It did say that the dial was finished, its currently at 500 USD, was hoping to spend under 1000. You figure the movement looks authentic? I am going to wear it and keep it so not super worried about resale. The only other Rolex in my price range is a speed king and the 30mm face has me worried it may look like I'm wearing my wife's watch...

That movement is a Marconi lever movement that someone printed Rolex on. It looks as if that whole watch was made to deceive.

Thanks guys, I think I'll avoid it. The only other Rolex's in my price range are Speed Kings. And the 30mm face makes me concerned that it may look like I'm wearing my wifes watch. Any thoughts on a 30mm on a man?

Thanks again

I have a very special Speedking ref. 4220 (POW Watch) that I mounted on a custom leather Bund strap to enhance the wrist presence and it works well.
