1948 model 3322 Rolex steel and gold question

Hello to all. I have a family watch which is a 1940's model 3322 steel and gold men's watch serial number 379961. We know it is original and have had the watch verified. Also it is original and has had no changes or modifications. Again, it is a family watch so we know it has not been changed since new. The question is about the crown on the dial face. This one has seven points where Rolex watches generally have only 5. Does anyone have any information why this one has 7?

You want to use the IMG link

There should be various types of links available for each photo at the photo host.

Copy and paste the IMG link in the box and hit "Go Advanced" at the bottom to preview to see if they show.

OR just hit Go Advanced. Above the message box after you do that is a toolbar. If you click on the paperclip next to the smiley face on the top row a box opens up.

From there you can upload photos!

Because the dial was redone/repainted and not very good unfortunately.

As pointed out in the prior post, the watch has had a redial and it wasn't done very well. I don't know who 'verified' it for you as all original but they were mistaken.

A two-tone Bubbleback from the 40's in pristine condition without a bracelet is a $2,900 watch, in this condition it's probably worth half that. Unless you want to invest in finding an original Bubbleback dial from the period, best to let your wife or young son wear it as a sentimental family heirloom rather than viewing it as something of great potential value in the vintage collectors market.

It'a reference 3372 not 22.

The issue also is that the bezel is extremely polished. This is the money here. The dial first.

So...breakdown on a typical 3372.

Original print dial on any bubble back excepting a solid gold model is 1/2 the value at least.

On a model with an engine turned bezel...the crisper the bezel the more it's worth.

It's not a bezel that is easily changed though it is possible..but...finding one...that is better would require a near mint watch...that had a broken lug or something that was retired.

Next yellow gold is always trumped by pink gold.

Dial is obtainable...that would help but honestly from a collectible standpoint the bezel is a real hurt.
