It means their value gets killed pretty badly, and Rolex won't service them.

That said, I do like some of the work that Bamford and others put out.

short for in before the lock. I thought u were talking about fake watch so I expected the mod to lock the thread.

No apologies needed. I can't tell if it's real, fake or modded Rolex.

I suspect if Rolex offered this as a standard model people would be singing its praises. Just my suspicion.

I absolutely agree with you...nothing wrong getting a modern Rolex customized especially like the one you posted...very sleek and stealth looking finish that complements the size and intended look of that model. Thanks as always for taking the time to post the pic!

If I had tons of extra cash why not. I think it's unique. It wouldn't be my only Rolex but nothing wrong with it. Not like they coated the first Rolex ever made. There are tens of thousands out there

I had the stock wheels too. I bought those for the track and had Michelin PS2 mounted on them. I still had the Goodyear run flats on the stock wheels but after I put the supercharger on it those run flats wouldn't hook at all. But the michelins wouldn't last but about 2000-5000 miles driving hard and that got expensive. I could break the tires loose at 80 mph on the interstate with the goodyears. The PS2s are sticky and. Usually wouldn't break loose past 45. Running 1/4 I'd get about .7-.8 faster. I had planed on running some Mickey Thompson slicks but never got around to it.

You've got it the wrong way around, Rolex have had ample chance to follow the likes of Breitling but they know what their clients generally like so they haven't. Tudor have a few dark models but that's as far as they go.

Would highlight the existence of Bamford and an entire cottage industry of Rolex modifiers suggests that a significant segment of Rolex enthusiasts like PVD. So I think I got it right. I believe markets speak louder than conjecture. They exist because people buy them. Perhaps not all forum participants agree but those few don't speak for entirety of the market.

My second point would be Rolex hears them but as always moves slowly and methodically. Consider YM everose black bezel on the new oysterflex. Direct response to rubber b straps and mods although not to be admitted. My 2 cents.

I disagree, Bamford are very specialised and considered gimmicky and so are disliked by most WIS I know, and considering they are priced at often double the retail I think they mostly appeal to conspicuous consumptives such as those who gold wrap their exotic sports cars.

I quite like the Blackshield on the Tudor so I don't dislike the concept, but I don't think it works on the more traditional looking Rolex.

Just my opinion too, Andy.

For sure, including quite a few watches that we both own/owned.
