What I am trying to understand from this thread is how it is important the "box and paper" versus the rarity of the watch. Better a rare 4 liner or better a E serie with box and paper?

IMO, rarity always trumps less rare with b&p. I'd take a floating or 4 line dialed Daytona in a heartbeat over a MK3 or later with b&p.......

This for sure Box and papers are a nice piece of kit, but they don't compare to something truly rare If you have two similar examples and one has the b&p, take that one, but otherwise buy the watch and not the box! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Could you post some pictures of the bracelet and clasp? Anyway, if you remove the bracelet, you will find the serial number with the serie engraved.
Do you have box and papers? Let us know.

The Mk IV black dials, even though not rare, do acquire nice patina.

Completely misleading. I agree that when shopping, it appears there aren't a lot out there. They made tens of thousands of these things. They are super cool, but one thing they certainly aren't is rare! People are holding back right now to watch how silly the prices get.
This was a $10,000 watch a year ago, and I think that's exactly where it should be. |
