Don't think there is nearly as much hype as you say there is. I do think its a good looking watch though.

Paying over retail just encourages the grey dealers to keep buying and flipping for a profit. The AD probably gives them preferential treatment because they buy regularly. I don't agree with this model.
However, if you have to wait +12 months for the watch, as you do where I'm from, then paying an extra $1K can be justified.
It's a beautiful watch either way you buy it.

As to your second question, you're right, nobody knows. The BLNR has been a strong seller staying closer to retail for longer than anybody (here anyway) predicted after its release. So...I think you're fine.

Relax and enjoy the watch. Because if you're not enjoying it, what's the point?
These are very good words of wisdom OP.

I wouldn't sweat it now, what's done is done. As long as you enjoy the purchase that's all that matters.

See it's a shame when you read this stuff as I got a call from one of the 24 AD's I called like 9 months ago saying they have the BLNR and do I want it, it's at that moment you wish you could speed dial someone here to help them out but unfortunately the AD will literally hang up and call the next on the list. I'm sure it went that afternoon. I didn't get it as sold all my pieces now the 'one watch guy' with my Hulk and can't be happier.

Of course its easy to live in the US and say you wont pay over list when they are everywhere but cost a lot more to buy at rrp, in reality there is probably very little difference

Congratulations on the watch, enjoy it and forget about the cost
How is there another rise coming in UK when the last one was last year!?

The Hulk is the watch to have to start and end a collection with maximum impact. I could be there myself if I had to.

You will regret it if you have to sell it, otherwise no.

Not only will it "die down", but it will completely die once the Coke is announced at Basel.

A coke would be a big hit on this model unless it was entirely discontinued first. More safety in the most traditional models (Sub, Daytona) but this is one hell of a nice looking watch!

As far as Grey Dealer prices go there is plenty of BLNR hype still but of course the DaytonaC is the King of Hype

I think the Coke would only be more attractive than the BLNR to the likes of us Rolex addicts on here , I believe that the BLNR looks better than a Coke but we'd all be wanting the Coke due to its history , there is room for both in the market place but I doubt Rolex would have them both in production at the same time

blnr is a beautiful piece but i felt it suited a person younger then my 53yrs and felt the bezel insert was huge and i kept on knocking it,,,
my personal opinion only after living with the blnr and the "acid" test was when i could have had another for my watch and not too much money and replaced my dj2 with another exact dj2,,
Still is a beautiful watch just not for me at the moment or in the future i imagine,,jay

If you got it...enjoy it... I did for a while but sort of fell out of love with it - so I just traded it for a Panerai 1305 at my AD... oh well...it was nice while it lasted.

cheers

You buy a watch or a design because you love it. Not because of hype. I bought my Milgauss GV when it was super hot. Now it is more available, the price drop, doesn't concern me.

Obviously at the moment any SS sports models are extremely hard to come by at AD's, but how long will it be like this? I guess nobody really knows...
I honestly feel like the hype already died down even in the past month. I certainly would not have paid over MSRP for that watch. Sorry

You wait until after you pay ONE THOUSAND POUNDS more than sticker price to worry about resale. Sorry buddy, but you are more than likely to face a loss. Unless you don't wear it...

Don't worry about the resale value - just enjoy it for what it is and if the price goes up its a bonus - if it goes down then its a watch you will enjoy to wear for years to come.

I was in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace on October the 18th and the AD had one
in the case.

Rolex send a lot of watches to Dubai, they seem to get deliveries every two weeks, I called ahead and said I would be holidaying there 3 weeks in advance and I had one waiting at the AD in my hotel when I arrived, used a card that doesn’t charge an I ternation fee and paid £6,025 after a discount, that was July this year. On the same day they had Hulk, DBlue, SD43 the lot. Wait time on ceramic Daytona was about 6 to 8 months that was the exception

I think availability of SS has changed, I contacted Seddiqi & Sons in September regarding a 116610LV. They advised that due to high demand their waiting list is temporary closed.
